@@robertreams1231 LOL. Definitely American. Also know several folks who do, but they're mostly musicians, not the general public. The latter tend to think "old school" is music from the 1990s instead of the 1890s like me. My post was just an observation on how folks from all over the globe have been instrumental in certain revivals of American music.

Just depends on who you're around. There are many swing revival bands throughout the US and have been for decades. Outside of that, almost every city has swing dancers that meet weekly, and they don't only consist of the older generation. Colleges in the western states have intercollegiate swing battles and their own clubs too. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of great swing music from outside the US (Caravan Palace is amazing if you haven't heard them) but there are many great bands here that are much appreciated ( Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, and Lapompe ). We live in a global community. Every country effects each other's interests, but outside influence was not necessary to maintain the love for swing quartets, jazz, and big band. It never went away, it just fell out of the mainstream for a bit. I'm so happy the Speakeasies' Swing Band! exists they are amazing and I hope people the world over get to hear them!

This music has been waiting decades to be re-discovered. Esp in the stale, 'Groundhog day' atmosphere of the current musical landscape. Anything new is good. In this case anything old is better than new.
