Bright Line Trains Inaugural Days First Runs

This is the first day opened to the public. Inaugural day of the Bright Line railroad company running it's brand New trains from stage 1 from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale Florida. On both January 14th and 15th Saturday and Sunday I went there to document the stations and the trains and how it is and looks to ride these beautiful trains. the only thing about these trains are that they will be to expensive to ride because of the top security they have on these trains. It is like going to an airport to catch a flight with the screening you have to go through and so many employees. You also can't wait on the platform to watch the train come in or go out which sucks for rail fanning or someone wanting to watch there love ones arrive or depart the station. The first day I rode there was a big problem with the booking situation but Bright Line employees made it right by inviting me and my friend back on a complimentary ride round trip the next day. Thank you Bright Line. In my opinion, Bright Line needs to slack up a bit and reduce the planned future prices of this train if they want to get anywhere with it because when the fare is adjusted it will only be for the rich and famous to ride. In my opinion a beautiful quit fast service but an over secured and expensive ride.

Unfortunately, rail travel has been on a steady decline in the US since the 50s, so it’s taken us much longer to advance than the rest of the world. It’s a shame, honestly.

Great to see Millenniumforce trying out the Brightline Trains. Great Videos. The only reason casualties exist is due to negligence with trespassers and violators. Millenniumforce: Perhaps they should keep the horn blowing because of these trespassers and violators.

This is so cheaper than Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. For roughly the same distance it’s like 70 bucks versus here it’s 40 and the service is better. I feel so guilty

Do they use both locomotives for a given direction of travel or does the one at the "rear" (in terms of direction of travel) get pulled dead-in-tow? Norton Hatfield actually you’re wrong. Comparing Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner it’s almost double, assuming similar distance and same dates. From San Juan Capistrano to Los Angeles it’s around 55 miles, 10 more miles than the distance from West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. The Amtrak one is 84 dollars round trip for two people, versus 40 bucks for two people on Brightline. Plus you get better service on that train than Amtrak, though it is really nice.

Musicman The FAM Right now, Brightline is only servicing two stations. West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Eventually it’ll have Miami when they finished building the station. They plan on servicing Miami-Orlando with a route different than Amtrak.

Do they have public trains in miami florida, Amtrak and commuter trains or is this the only train Miami florida,assuming the people in Miami Florida do not want to pay extra taxes for a commuter train. At one time the sunset limited served the state of Florida which made it a true transcontinental train, from Los Angeles California to Miami/Orlando Florida but that service was discontinued after hurricane Katrina in 2005 .the sunset limited now only travels far east as new Orleans Florida.

Trirail is a taxpayer funded commuter rail that runs parallel to Brightline's trackage. Amtrak has their Silver Meteor and Silver Star trains that share the TriRail tracks. Miami also has a Metro system in the downtown area.
