In this video I run the destination from top to bottom numbers and letters first and then the messages. Destination equipment is very dirty and noisy and has not worked in a long time.
This would be last time Arriva would buy Bright Tech Developments Power Roller Blind Displays for its buses in The Midlands as all later buses would have Orange Hanover Destinations.
This display would have been seen in Leicestershire from 2002 and were fitted in Eastlanks Daf Lowlanders Double Deckers 4717 to 4745 and some Wright Daf Saloons.
The main roller has South Gates Garage routes at the top, Wigston Garage routes in the middle and Thurmaston Garage routes at the bottom. There are 113 destinations on the main roller.
This display uses barcodes on the numbers and main destination to work, dirt, dust or damage to rollers can quickly stop them from working.
This working destination was saved by Matt and Myself for spares to keep other destinations on other buses working, however after we have changed the broken buses. Management at the time got more Orange Hanover LED Displays as they just worked better. So all old destinations got removed and replaced. The last bus to be done was 4715. This bus had a large Bright Tech LED display fitted.
London still use power roller displays a TFL (transport for London) Requirement. Displays are Black with White Messages and not Yellow Messages like this one.
