the "88" driverless taxi was postponed to October. In fact, this is great news: The product will be: More complete, The business plan will be more thoughtful and mature, The initial output will be enough for the first batch of cars, The actual commercial operation will start in some cities in the United States and China at the same time. (Postponed to October due to: 1. FSD is progressing rapidly and is close to completing the highest level "Level 5". 2. More "trial runs" are needed to generate enough "safety data" for the government to approve the "trial commercial operation".)

The Tesla Space has a video about how Tesla’s car inference computers could be used as a network like AWS during off peak use hours. You guys haven’t touched on it and wonder if it’s actually within the realm of the possible.

Thanks for the videos. We need one on how close are we REALLY to FSD? Obviously FSD has to be PERFECT. Any accidents would get horrific publicity. Going 30 minutes without an intervention is NOWHERE close to this. I'm banking my retirement on this, and I'm wondering if I should get out of Tesla.

All the automobile assessments depends on when FSD actives L4 (no driver needed in seat), until then they are all 0% and then 100%. I don't get that there is not more focus on when L4 is achieved.

I consider FSD development to be one the most difficult challenges in the area of AI/autonomy. Whenever I hear a delay from Tesla, it screams to me how incredibly far behind all other OEMs are to having anything close to FSD.

You must always remember that to be as successful as Elon you have to be an optimist. Being an optimist means that you always think projects will be quicker than is possible and this often leads to not meeting deadlines. Elon also sets deadlines to pressure the team to greater efforts..

FSD is not Working and may take another 3-5 years. Robots are 2 years min away. I love this constant talk about how tesla is an ai company and all the goals for the next 10 years. My question is why is nobody talking about normal cars anymore. All the years of projecting 30Millions cars and now that they dont sell good anymore..nothing. Where is the model Y refresh. Where are the new models. WHat about solar, home hvac etc.. Nobody talks about these things because all these didnt go as planned but everybody is sure with robots and fsd its diffrent. the only relay good thing about tesla atm is energy.

400-500 million in capital builds a megapack factory that generates 5 billion in annual revenue. That is insane! The issue is that that capital has a 5-10 year shelf life before enough Megapacks exist worldwide and demand down shifts to replacement level. The downside is, Tesla can only ramp up as fast as they can get batteries. The same batteries are more cost-effective in robotaxi or internal Optimus. As we see inflation fears ebb Teslas 2 to 3 year challenge is going to be where to allocate battery supply. In a year, the production of the lithium refinery is going to look prescient. Tesla should be valued at 600-800 a share now and 2-3 times that next year if Shanghai mega factory ramps to 40GWh fast, robotaxi is demonstrated in multiple (international) markets, and Optimus rolls out to a few thousand internal jobs within Tesla.

Look at GM/Cruise’s unveiling of their robotaxi. More recent images/videos in 2023 show the Origin had multiple components removed/changed since it was revealed in 2020. Every hardware change likely costed hundreds of thousands of dollars. And despite the millions upon millions of dollars spent on hardware & manpower the Origin ultimately ended up being postponed indefinitely, likely cancelled. I think Teslas approach will eventually solve for Self Driving, because they have demonstrated far better software development, the huge fleet, far larger than anyone else, and because of their insane levels of vertical integration. Everything GM/Cruise failed to do.

The fact that the stock fell by over 8% in 1 day shows just how much hot air there is in this balloon. Full of sentiment with no substance. Robotaxis are all talk. No one really knows the outcome. It’s just pure speculation and that’s the issue with investment in this company. It’s a high risk investment with so much hot money in it that it’s prone to high volatility. It’s a punters game not a long term hold. Let’s face it. Who’s going to want to jump in a vehicle where someone has puked all over it or couple having more than nooky with all of the leftovers in the back seat. How is a bloody robot going to know anything about this and who is going to clean the mess up? Maybe the Magic Man Musk can explain that. Of course he can’t. He can just spiel on ad museum about this new technology that will take over the world. So much unproven BS. Let’s get back to reality for at least a second… Like to read the answers to the above scenarios..I’m waiting…
