If you have any doubts just plug in your powerbank instead of your phone. And if it is urgent: modern powerbanks can also charge your phone at the same time they themselves are charged - whiles there is no way that data can pass through the cables. And last but not least: there is no need to charge at the airport if you travel with the right airline, many planes have meanwhile an usb charging port in the armrest of your seat, so you can charge during the flight.

Here's a tip: Just look for an entire outlet and bring the entire charger so cable and charger box.
@therealScopolamine4 жыл бұрын
A power only cable can solve this problem by not including the pin on the usb that allows for data transfer. If you rip open a common wire you can see 4 different colors: green, white, red, and black. Red and black are positive (+) and negative (-). That’s all you need to charge your phone. In theory a cable without green specifically (I don’t know what white is for) would protect your device from any kind of data transfer or theft.

It's called charge only mode for Android, simply turn off MTP or FTP, there, your phone will not react to any incoming / outgoing data... Also most phones use MTP, and that ONLY transfers pictures, you can't access the file system.

You can get power only cable. Or you cut the data line in the cable. Wireless charging
@hozongxi4 жыл бұрын
An USB port has 4 pins, 2 of which transfer data and the other two are the 5v and GND pins supplying power. In public USB charging ports, the data pins do not have a connection because even if they had, where would they connect to anyway? Hence, they only supply the power to the mobile device for charging and would not be able to take any data from the device (basically the same logic as for the power bank as only the 5v and GND pins are connected to the li-ion battery pack) UNLESS someone disassembles the entire socket and is able to fit a file extracting device small enough which is going to be very difficult and extremely obvious to the airport staff or even other people. So, feel free to charge your phone through public USB Ports. If you're really worried just go get an old cable, open the casing on either side and snip off the data cables (google for diagrams) and you shall be safe.

@@lillyofthevalley208 It needs to be a powerbank that is FAA approved and you would need special permission from the aircompany you fly with to bring more then one ... Unfortunately we have seen some batteries catch on fire and even explode. Which is why those are not allowed to travel within the cargo hold. Since after an onboard fire caused the fatal crash of UPS Airlines Flight 6 in 2010. Many more cases are known so there is good reason for it.

I thought the usb charging docks at the airport are charging only they only supply power no data transfer Also when a usb is plugged in the phone asks what mode u want to connect like file transfer etc... use charge only.
@ethanpoole34435 жыл бұрын
I can’t speak as to Android devices, but most iOS devices I’ve tried in the past revert to USB 1.1 specs when switched off (I’ve not tested the very latest devices, however), so charging while powered off will be limited to around 400-500mA (2.0 to 2.5 watts) so you’ll have to be very patient waiting for your phone or tablet to actually charge. On the other hand, this behavior does at least permit charging from otherwise inadequate power sources that are incompatible with fast charging, but it’s so slow as to be maddening when you could be charging 4-5 times faster while powered on. So the other options are much more practical. I ordinarily use either a 6Ah (pocket size) or 15Ah power bank for my phone and tablet and that is usually more than enough to get through even a very busy 24 hours without further charging.

Micro SD card? And this is basically the idea of a card skimmer on an ATM but for phone data and while ATM skimmers used to use micro SD or something similar that really isn’t used anymore and now they typically have just a SIM card in them and transfer data real time because the riskiest part was going back for the data you farmed but easy enough now to just use cellular

Tips for people with androids. Go to your androids build number and tap on it until it gives u developer options. Insert your passcode and then go to general settings. Expand your settings and select developer options. Scroll down and you should see the option for USB debugging. Turn it on and then ur good to go.
