I had been getting new muscular pains that were taking over my life. Felt like new injuries and I didn’t know why . Started taking liquid Vit D3 amd saw huge improvement. A special side note! My primary dr said I just needed 800IU/ daily. I have a naturopath doctor and she said no take about 4,000IU a day and that when I felt a huge difference. Of course after 8 weeks I will be testing my Vit D levels !

I'm 27. Ever since I was 13, I've had extremely debilitating shin splints. It was so painful to run or jump. Simple exercises like jumping jacks were not an option for me. I've also gotten sick more than other people normally do all my life. Looking back, I didn't spend much time outside and didnt get much sunlight. Let me tell you, after I started taking 5,000 IU a day of vitamin d3, along with a calcium supplement, my shin splints went away almost completely. After a few more weeks, they had vanished. They never came back because I keep taking my vitamin D3 and Calcium every day. I also used to have joint pain, particularly in my knees. That's gone too. I never thought 20 dollars worth of vitamins from Walmart would have improved my quality of life so much.

I had blood tests recently and was prescribed a vitamin D3 and calcium supplement. I had no idea I was lacking in either. I started taking them 5 weeks ago, not thinking much of it and my energy and brighter mood have increased so much! I've suffered with moderate depression, on and off for years and low energy the past few years (I'm 40) and I'm shocked how different I'm feeling at the moment. I've gone on to buy my own supplements now and I wouldn't want to be without them!

Must have a better Dr. than me. I have deficiencies in B12, folic acid and severe deficiencies it D3 and my doctor said I was normal. I am right above the 300 range in vitamin D, which is the lowest i should be and she thinks that’s OK. I have left her practice because all she wants to do is throw drugs at problems and when I try to discuss these kinds of things, her eyes roll back into her head. I can’t believe how wonderful KZbin is in what great doctors are here to help us with these problems. Thank you thank you for all your help. I am convinced now that my lower back pain, muscle problems and hair loss are associated with my vitamin deficiencies. ☀️🪴♥️

Just curious, did you find that you had chronic neck pain/fatigue or headaches or really that you could barely keep your head up? I got my blood taken and I was at a 22- normal range 30-40 and the doctor ordered another retest off my vitamins for a month. Still waiting on the results but knowing I’m slightly deficient I’m wondering if others have similar symptoms. I’m hoping the fatigue is because of the severe lack of vitamin d.

I have the exact same symptoms! I sweat in the winter when it's snowing, and when I'm in air conditioning. Plus, my hair is so thin and I have bald patches, and I had my levels checked and they were low. So I need to get in the sun more, and my doctor prescribed a blue gel pill I have to take once a week. Oh, I'm 39, and I started losing my hair at 35-36. I thought it was because I stopped taking my birth control pills, and went on an IUD. So who really knows what's causing all these things? I hope it's as easy as getting more vitamin D!

That's because vitamin D deficiency does NOT cause fibromyalgia! It can only exacerbate it. I've been taking vitamin D for 30 years to lessen my fibromyalgia symptoms. But I've not had a vitamin D deficiency in those 30 years. If you think vitamin D cured your fibro, that's great. Sometimes freakish things happen like that! But vitamin D is absolutely NOT a cure for it. I wish it were! But one of my specialists told me that myofascial pain syndrome is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia as the symptoms are simila & some overlap.

My blood tests showed a level of 2 of Vitamin D instead of the normal levels of 20 - 50. But my symptoms were slightly different. I felt "wired" all the time, and could virtually not sleep at all, consequently, I didn't or couldn't dream, so those one or two hours of sleep didn't feel like sleep. I couldn't tolerate the sun at all - even in an air-conditioned car, if the sun shone in through the windows, I would feel faint and nauseous. So I could only go outside in the morning or evening. I do identify with the constant sweating! I felt as if I was moving underwater, against a constant stream. My normal patience deserted me. My teeth became very painful and sensitive - I couldn't even rest my tongue up against them or clean them unless I used a baby brush. My vision was also affected - I couldn't drive anymore. I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and now take a mega dose of Vitamin D every week. Although my sleep is still very poor, I do dream again at last, and that makes me feel more normal!

@Abubakr #Apostate I respect your view ..I have read some recent studies as well as some doctors and scientists said that vitamin d is low in body due to acidic or inflammatory environment in the body....so lower vitamin d is not the cause but the result of inflammation in the body...so question what is causing that in the body we need look for identifying that cause or disease... I totally respect your view but in many fb groups of vitamin d ...many are taking these pills for six yrs and still their symptoms are as it is...no improvement at all....then some drs say you should take magnesium mk7 and magnesium with vitamin d...so I believe its nothing but big business ...I never heard from my father or grand parents...there never heard such deficiencies and so on...so it might be business trend

It's also very easy to have a reaction to Vit D. It doesn't take much to be over your personal limit. It can cause a lot of upsetting symptoms, especially extreme itching and rash. Cutting back to a lower dose will help this. Also spreading out the dosage instead of taking a large amount all at once. I've personally discovered both, and helped a friend having the same problem realize what was happening to him. Too much too fast. Y

I recently had blood work done and my vitamin D levels were severely low. I always felt tired and depressed, and I was getting a little more sick than usual. I have a prescription for it now, and I feel a lot better most days, but I do need more sunlight. FYI, 10-15 minutes is only suitable for white and/or fair skinned individuals. People with darker skin need more time. I'm starting to think the medical industry doesn't care much about darker skin individuals because they have to have readily available information on how much time in the sun we actually need, especially when considering that African American's have the highest rates of vitamin D deficiency in America.
