Try to do things that you like like going to the movie theater to watch your favorite movies, eating your favorite food at the restaurant or simply go visiting like museums or nature park. All these activities will make you happy & automatically your brain relaxed, you definitely can fall asleep fast. Try to stay at home less, put more of your favorite outings in your life.

I closed my eyes & created a vision of sheep jumping over the fence, you do that awhile& it starts happening on its own, same thing with watching fireworks. Now I can never stay awake, lol, try it!, It worked for me.! I started doing that when I was about 5 or 7... Happy sleeping!!

Try "the 4-7-8 technique" to relax the body- (breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and then breathe out for 8 seconds).

If you can't fall asleep, "think about the next morning"?? That's exactly WHY I can't fall asleep. What terrible advice. If I start thinking about the next morning, I will literally be awake until my alarm clock goes off at 6am.

I have trouble turning my brain off when I go to bed (I've written entire essays and given lectures in my head). I use a technique that keeps my brain mildly busy instead of very busy. Think of any word that is more than five digits long, like the word "Sleeping" then think of a noun that begins with each letter in the word. S - sand, L - ladle, E - egg... and so on. I know it sound weird but it works for me. By the fourth word I'm usually asleep.

My favorite way to fall asleep has always been simply lay on my right side. I've always been a side sleeper & the instant relaxed feeling that I've always gotten from laying down that way; usually puts me to sleep in no time. Right side is best. :)

When I close my eyes at night, I think about looking at the backside of my eyelids. Then I count to 2 as I inhale, then count to 2 or 3 as I exhale. Keep looking at the backside of my eyelids and inhale again to the count of 2 or 3. Try to do it 5 times. I find it is a distraction for my mind.

My hubby used to joke that I fell asleep in under 10 seconds. All my life till I retired, now I can spend 3 - 4 hours awake during the night. Now its him who falls asleep in under 10 seconds lol. I sleep on average 4 hours a night then every few days I can sleep 12 hours straight, I don't understand the logic. Most times I'm like a zombie during the day.

When I can't fall asleep I fool myself into thinking it's time to get up because, for some reason, I can always sleep when it's time to get up in the morning. What I do is, get up and make myself some breakfast cereal and then eat it in bed. It relaxes me and maybe tricks my brain into thinking it's morning and before long am asleep.

Being a huge music lover, I tried listening to Binaural Beats last night. It worked perfectly. I had to adjust the volume, but it worked like a charm. I have perfect pitch, however, which does mean I can hear a few of the indivisual frequencies. So when I listen to binaural Beats, I hear a little bit of ringing in my left ear. Is that just me or is that everyone else as well? Or is my speaker really good? LOL.
