For those confused by the water one: there are more atoms in a standard glass of water than standard glasses of water in the ocean. It’s not comparing atom count, it’s comparing atom count in one glass to number of standard glasses that are contained in the ocean. The wording is tricky, but the fact stands.

Shading one hemisphere can be done to show it's selected but it's more often done to make the other more prominent (such as in this case.) If you wanted to emphasize just one small section of something, you'd usually fade the rest to remove some detail/contrast and to highlight the important part.

I think it would be really neat if the green oxidation on Lady Liberty was turned back into it's original shiny copper color and then covered with a permanent clear protective coating to keep it that way. It would look awesome.

The air contains mold spores we even breathe it everywhere we go, and leaving a water bottle alone after opening it allows spores to enter into the bottle so the air inside the water bottle already has spores and it has water that it will need to grow

The smell of rain is called "petrichor". We still call them "taxis" over in the UK. They actually have illuminated signs on the roof saying "taxi". You can't quite make it out in that picture, but that little thing in the middle of the roof is the sign. That building is NOT "Big Ben"!!! That is the name of the bell inside.

Volcanoes are types of mountains. Mountains have to be 1,000 feet taller than their surroundings to be geographically considered a mountain. Mauna Kea is 13,000 feet high, from sea level to height. It’s a mountain.
