"You stare at me so boldly now. You have no lack of confidence. It's just those lessons on sublety you missed" These lines are so perfect, they play out just like a movie in my head. I can see the boy, the girl, the room. The situation. Conor has a way of writing stuff so specific and yet anybody can relate to it instantly. Haven't listened to his recent stuff so much, but at his prime (2000-05) he wrote some of the best songs ever.

Ahhh..the original, the first time I heard this was off of this recording and its still the best. Take me back to winters at 13, I'm in my 30s now, how time fly's away..

When you listen to a song that paints a story in your head.. this song is an example. Memories... or just to know how that would feel to be in that situation. Its like you are in it.

Beautiful song... and I love it when musicians make mistakes. It proves they're real people and adds character to the song.

I think Mr. Oberst is a mutant shape shifter, he always looks different. Anyway...this and "Amy in the White Coat," are enough to reduce anyone to tears.

Okay I’m a little late to the party I know, but this version was the first and only version of this song I heard and I’ve been trying to figure it out myself on acoustic for a while now... apart from starting on Am, can anyone post chords or tabs to follow?
