He is like Joe Root. He perfectly anchored the innings with the hundred with the SR of 92! Its a pity that on that day the team didnt play around him to get the total. He is a delight to watch when in full flow. Unless Pak develop some aggressive batters who could bat around him, Pak will struggle. Babar can't be the aggressor and the anchor at the same time.

You should watch him bat in 2019. He was really aggressive while playing conventional shots, I think he made 98 in 110 balls under lights in a pink ball test match. Hit 10 fours to steyn in 3 overs on an up and down surface at the wanderers and his t20 batting in South Africa was remarkable, but after that he changed his technique and became a completely different batsman.

These were the times before he had people who tried to bring him down early in his career including Pakistans own commentators, but he just kept going on. He is really the best modern day batsman ever. I separate 90s and 2000s because the players in those days didnt have to play t20is so conventional technique was easier to hold on to with slower strike rates. In his case, his countrymen as per their culture stilll to this day try to bring him down. You are first supported in your country and only after that the rest of the world. The others only will take your side so much (you are hitting their teams, what do you expect?) And he always took responsiblity of the batting lineup because even with players much senior, he was supposed to be the one to keep it together. His style changed as well. The other end cant even keep their wicket even if they try to do so. So if he couldnt play rough shots. He just went full precision, textbook classic, and the most beautiful shots ever in history to shape innings. A phenomenon, who came about in the most monopolistic and money-dirty times of this sport.
