The reason why I like Andrew to be in the same room as CTG is because he actually challenges him on his opinions (unlike his other platforms, like The Breakfast Club where he's the "smartest" guy in the room and talks over Yee and Envy). He was not trying to understand the meaning of the word "martyr", he (and those articles he brought up) were using it in a hyperbolic way but that's not the actual definition of the word (the same way we use words like "dead", "kill", "destroy")

JUDY HOPS78 Um anyone who knows the English language knows that a martyr has ALWAYS been someone who DIES for what he believes in. Over time, words can take on different and lesser meanings and you can use them as metaphors, hyperbole and euphemisms but Charlemagne was wrong about the literal definition. If I say "yo I'm about to kill this plate of chicken in front of me" that doesn't mean I'm using the word "kill" literally.
@YelloDuzzit5 жыл бұрын

the word has a double meaning like thousands of other words. andrew is wrong.
@YelloDuzzit5 жыл бұрын
@@hansolodolo92 thats not even what double meaning means... Double meaning is about text and underlying subtext, not words that have two seperate definitions... And the whole point IS that, the so called, second meaning isnt real, its hyperbole that ppl got used to usinh... Andrews "kill" example covers this... You see, thats the problem that Schulz and Charla are having, they're having the same conversation, but operating on completely different levels of thought. Thats why I say he's not doing a good job explaining what he's saying... But Charla isnt listening with the intent to understand

Charlemagne just like literary publications and authors are using one of the definitions of the word listed in the dictionary. If it is the 1st definition or the 8th definition, if it is listed as a definition it can be used. Andrew is wrong if he thinks you have to use the first known definition of the word. Also, he's done before what he claims Charlemagne and others have done and tried to clown him for it. He loves to make a point tho. I have to give him that.
@johnbanks51065 жыл бұрын
Nah, it's used colloquially as a way to say that somebody sacrificed something for something else that is important to them all the time. If we're getting literal, then only Christians dying for their faith specifically can be considered martyrs.

Andrew was arguing the literal meaning of the word martyr. Most words literally mean one thing but also have metaphorical meanings as well but usually, only one literal meaning and ppl don’t understand that. No matter how many definitions a word may have. Charla not that book smart though so he wouldn’t get it. That’s why you can’t argue with some ppl lol but the word martyr literally means what Andrew said it did. You can use it metaphorically as well like the articles that charla mentioned but that isn’t the literal meaning. No one died for their beliefs. A career lost yes, but not a life.

LINEAL champ is the one who got the title by beating the previous champ. Wilder & Joshua both got their belts essentially given to them after Fury won it by beating Klitschko--Fury got stripped after losing his boxing license. So....because of this, Fury now has his license to box, still unbeaten, but no titles anymore. They have titles, still both unbeaten, but didnt beat the previous champ. Rare situation.
