Pretty good turbulence and wind. I noticed they went flaps 3. Was it noticeably fast?

It wasn't too bad. A little more bumpy than the usual approach maybe. Honestly, I wouldn't really say I noticed it being any faster than normal. They did keep their speed up for quite awhile though. Being MCI, and not having 50 other planes to sequence us with, there wasn't any need to slow down 200 miles out haha. Thanks for watching!

The outboard flap seems to be loose where it connects to the inboard flap (12:10 or so) . The whole actuator/flap mechanism seems to be shaking excessively.

It is moving quite a bit here, but that being said, it's also not entirely unusual to see that on the A320 series. For example, on this United A320 it moved quite a bit on landing as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp6yioqnZsd8mJY Thanks for watching my friend!

Very nice video! Kansas City is not a place I'm interested in visiting, but the scenery and weather were stunning on this approach. Excellent camera work as always. I'm always wondering what is the best way to hold the camera so perfectly still on a moving plane. I find it very difficult. I also noticed the plane was seemingly close to the ground before the flaps came out...........

Thanks my friend. I've had a lot of practice holding the camera, but the iPhone also has amazing built in video stabilization. So, that helps a lot. In the end, I hold the camera instead of using a mount because I don't like some of the side effects you get when using a mount. It can make the footage look warped if it's attached wrong. It also limits your view if you don't have one with a movable head. As for the flaps. MCI gets a decent amount of traffic, but it's nowhere near as busy as a hub. So, no need to really slow down ahead of time. They don't have to sequence you in a line of 100 other planes trying to land at the same time. Thanks for watching man!

I live in Kansas City. It has a population of almost a million now. The landing made it look like they were landing somewhere more rural than they actually were though, Kansas City is all south of the airport and we were only looking north and northwest from the window

I agree. Because of where I was seated, and the approach we took, it makes the area look way more rural than it actually is. Although, Kansas City didn't do themselves any favors by building the airport up by St. Joe. Thanks for watching my friend!

@@sla31, no problem. Yes, the airport is almost halfway between downtown and St. Joseph. I'm even further from the airport since I live south of downtown.

@J J, oh, I know that there are many cities much bigger than Kansas City.

@J J, yes, that's interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if KC hits 4 million by 2040, I wonder what the population of the great cities of New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, or London may be by then. The world's population is ever expanding. There have been other nations besides China, I believe, which have discussed the possibility of pressing the "one child per family" laws, I can't remember now which countries I read about regarding that. But, I still love traveling just as I did as a kid.

How do you keep the camera so steady? Do you have an attachment for the filming?

I do not. I hold the camera, as I like to have ultimate control over what I'm filming. I don't like being locked into a certain view with a suction cup mount. So, it's a lot of practice, coupled with the fact that the iPhone has amazing cameras with really good built in stabilization. Thanks for watching man!

This is very deceiving. Because the airport is located North of the metro KC area, and I was on the northward facing side of the plane, it makes it look like Kansas City is very rural. If I was on the other side of the plane it would've looked very different. Thanks for watching man!

Joseph Zimmerman, yes, I live in Kansas City, when I've been on the south facing side of the airplane while descending, you can see downtown, alot more urbanization in the distance. And you can see even more suburban and urban areas, and KC Cheifs stadium, if the descent is facing a more northwest direction towards the airport.

@J J, there are many cities with their main airport outside of the city. London Gatwick, Paris De Gaulle, Tokyo Narita (but there's also Haneda much nearer the city), Seoul Intern.airport. But many American cities have their main airport much closer to downtown I've noticed; LAX, New York La Guardia and Kennedy, Chicago O'Hair, Miami Intern., Atlanta, etc.

@J J, that's cool that you've been around. I like talking about all of this with people who can relate to these different places and who have been there. Sometimes when I've mentioned this to some people here in Kansas City who haven't travelled much and don't know much about these places, I feel like I'm saying things that are just going over their heads. You've been to more places than I've been.

@J J, yes, when I was a kid in the early 1980s, I remember TWA being hubbed there. Then I remember how TWA moved their hub to St. Louis for the remainder of the 1980s. My family and I used to fly to the UK, my grandparents were English, we'd fly TWA from KC via St. Louis to London Gatwick to visit them in the summer for a few weeks. TWA was ours' and America's most popular airline in the 1980s, I remember, with United and Eastern being close by in favorites, I recall. We flew Eastern one winter to Puerto Rico via Miami to get some tropical winter sun, when I was about 11. I remember once flying British airways when I was really little, like in the late 1970s from London Heathrow to New York. I flew BA again numerous times many years later once grown. I remember funny things sometimes, I remember when little, the BA (economy) seats being orange. And then much later, blue

You're definitely entitled to that opinion. I prefer American, but a lot of that is simply because they have more options around where I live than anyone else. They're the only airline that serves my home airport. Thanks for watching my friend!
