A point advantage does not necessarily lead into a definite advantage, as many pieces which has much more potential can lead to much better outcomes and strategies. Some examples of which are matches where the people will land 2 consecutive queens sacrifices in a row, even when there is less points as the other pieces can lead to a checkmate if they capture the queen as the pieces will then manage to have a different pathway, or a major piece of theirs is blocked due to the blockade.

what so brilliant about it? i think it evaluates the brilliancy according the game
@somethingsomething80223 жыл бұрын
No it’s brilliant because it leads to a line of moves that lead to a winning position for white that black can’t counter, even if black started making the best possible moves. Of course, he’s only rated 100 so he didn’t see the line at all and completely blundered it. And no the engine does not evaluate the brilliancy of a move based on previous moves. It does it on what leads to the best position that is water tight so that the enemy can’t escape it.
@thebigpurplemonkey3 жыл бұрын
@@somethingsomething8022 No what makes a move a brilliant move on chess.com is that it took the engine searching to a certain depth before it realized that it was the best move. That's why they say its a best move, but hard to see. It doesn't look like the best move for that turn, but down the line it turns out it was the best option.
@nic123443 жыл бұрын
It's brilliant because it leads to a forced draw from a bad position and down 3 pawns. After Ke8, white plays Rh3 and it's mate unless black plays Kf8. Then, Rxc7 Kg8, Rg3+ Kh8 and Rcg7. Then black is in zugzwang and has to play a useless move, like pushing a pawn. Then it's a draw by 3 fold repetition of Rg8+ Kh7, R8g7+ Kh8.
@TheUglyBastard3 жыл бұрын
A brilliant move is a move that the engine didn't consider on a quick analysis and turns out to be better
@nic123443 жыл бұрын
@@TheUglyBastard Sometimes yes, but many times a brilliant move can also be a move that is only the best one if you follow it by a precise line of moves that lead you to the advantage and if you play anything else than that line, the move becomes inferior to other moves. It can also be, like in this case, the first move of the only line that is not losing.
