Eazy wheels were designed by Brompton to allow a folded bike to be rolled more easily
They are slightly less beneficial on a bike with no rack - we made a video on that previously
This video is about fitting Eazy wheels onto a Brompton with a rack
A new rack was introduced in 2016 - so the wheels used are different - this video shows the difference
We also show the fitting steps of all four wheels
Here is a link to all of the Eazy Wheels / rollers available for the Brompton

Hi! Thanks for all your videos, so helpful. However this one there is a mistake. I compared it to the instructions which come with the eazywheel set and the 4 x washers should go on the frame side, not the outside. you can then fully tighten the bolt and the wheel spins freely.

You have the washers on the wrong side on the frame wheels. Also, for the 6mm rack wheels the spacers in the instruction say to install as you did, but there are no nylon washers... just two spacers for the bungees, so if you do follow the instructions you dont have enough of the bolt left over to engage the nylon on the nylock nut. I removed one of the washers to make it work. Brompton need to update those instructions.

Correction alert!! The official Brompton guide asks for the 4x M5 frame washers to be located *inside* the Eazy wheel. If you follow this guide the bike will be less stable as the track will be 8x M5 washers narrower than specified. I’m personally not convinced by the Brompton guide for the rear rack requiring 20x M5 washers, distributed 11 to 9 across the wheels. On the post-2016 rack, it results in the nut virtually hanging off the wheel bolts. My experience (to get a secure nut connection) suggests 7x M5 washers on each axle is more appropriate, spaced 4/2/1 on the LHS and 1/1/5 on the RHS.

Thanks for watching (again) and giving us your feedback (again) The new wheels were definitely an improvement over the previous standard wheels The rack is great for improving stability when folded - and carrying stuff occasionally We pack the odd Brompton tyre in a 16 inch pizza box and deliver by Brompton - the rack is the perfect size for that

Great video. I’ve just done the rear eazy wheel on my pre-2016 Brompton and the instructions were perfect. Thank you! Ps am thinking of swapping the front rollers for eazy wheels too but was wondering whether you have any problems with shoes sometimes catching the wheels when you pedal (due to the larger size)? Ps your instructions were also better than the official printed instructions that came with the wheels. They only suggested 5 washers on the inside wheel which meant the wheel rubbed on the rack. 6 is better. :)

Thanks for watching! I’ve never really had much of an issue with pedals catching, so did not find the change to the Eazy wheels an issue. If you are changing the ones on the frame you need the 6mm version, 5mm for the pre-2016 rack.

Apologies for making a habit of going off topic from the video, but the mention of the rack reminded me. I was recently forced to install a rack on my brompton WITHOUT the assistance of one of your videos to explain it all to me. I cannot begin to explain the terror I felt. So far I have not dared to touch my bike without first looking at your video on the relevant subject. In fact everything on the bike is engineered to such minute tolerances that I'm not sure it's entirely safe to even look at my bike, without checking one of your videos first. I got away with installing the rack, but I could have killed or maimed myself very easily, or killed the bike- or even been kidnapped by aliens- and all because you didn't make a video showing how to fit a rack. I consider this the most heinous sin of omission, and that you are all villains, and I hope you are suitably mortified and contrite. However, I have found it in my heart to forgive you, provided you make no more videos about bags for one calendar month (is there another kind of month btw?). I think it is the least you can do.

Thank you so much for watching and making us laugh! The rack video has a long history with us! We keep wanting to make a video on it. We take a rack out of stock, then they all sell, then we feel bad, then sell the rack we have not used yet…. Then it repeats! So hopefully soon we can use one to help people install it! Until then the clock is ticking till we can make ANOTHER bag video.. or maybe it will be…. The pressure you can inflate your tyres too with the Brompton pumps…. Or….

@@brilliantbikes , I'm just teasing about the bag videos of course. I spend every spare minute studying them. And thanks to yourselves, I know more more about brompton bags than any other item of human manufacture. But I must add a word of warning for my fellow youtube viewers- beware the non-brompton accessories. I paid over £100 for a rear rack from a manufacturer whom I shall not mention here, and I wrestled with it for several hours, trying to make it fit onto the bike. I finally gave up and ordered the brompton one, when you guys got it back into stock (so actually, its my fault you never had a rack left to make a video). The official brompton rack slid into place with no problem at all, and I was all done in an hour or so. Same thing happened with a rear suspension block I bought- it had a spring in it, which I though would be great as I cycle rough rural lanes a fair bit. But guess what- I couldn't get the little hook on the frame to click into the notch at the top of the block when the bike was folded up. After a lot of messing about I eventually I gave up and put the original block back on, and immediately it was back to normal folding operation. It's gotten so bad I'm worried about using a non-brompton spanner on the bike....

Your videos are so helpful and I’ve watched so many. Thank you so much! I have a question: my Brompton is 2004 M3R. There are 4 wheels for the rear rack. The two bigger ones use a 6mm screw each, which I can replace them easily now. For the other two smaller wheels (at the very end of the rack), I learned from your video that they use 5mm screws. I’d like the 4 wheels are the same, i.e., using the easy wheel of 60mm diameter. What is the solution for replacing the smaller wheels on the rack without replacing the rack?

Re, your comments regarding the limited advantage of the ezy wheels on non-rack bikes, would you say that this applies even more so on the Brompton Electrics where the additional weight of the motor when folded tends to make the folded structure more tippy ? Thank you, David

Thanks for watching - again! Interestingly - and we didnt notice until you commented and you checked - the Electric Brompton has the larger wheels as used on a rack version Brompton The larger wheels (we think) increases the stability and rolling capability slightly Changing to Eazy wheels wouldn't have much of an effect (as the diameter of these is not much more) - but due to the extra weight of the Electric, we think the Eazy wheels may brake quicker
