2:55 - That whole running sequence culminating in such a harmonious ‘transfer’ is one of the greatest structures Bach ever wrote in my opinion. Note that I’m not a fan, nor familiar, with his religious work so ‘my opinion’ is based on a somewhat limited scope of reference, but my point stands. The whole first movement is a masterpiece by the way, instantly recognizable to most anyone as well. That being said, when it comes to the whole of the Baroque schools I must say I prefer the Italian one to the many variants of the German states. Well, actually the French school but that’s not subject here. Anyway, thanks again for the lovely upload! This will help fill many further evenings and car rides!
