No.96 in D major used be called “Miracle”. Here No.102 is called by that name, I don't know why. Perhaps the scholars found out the accident had happend at the perfomance of No.102?

Symphony 96 is the ‘Miracle’ symphony and always has been; the problem however is that the incident of the falling chandelier which miraculously left none of the audience injured, happened at a performance of Symphony 102. The confusion obviously originated - and stuck - right from the outset, though it is a little strange as 96 was first performed during the 1791 season in London, whilst 102 was for the 1795 season.* Any attempt to switch the nickname to the correct symphony will simply cause confusion, and it doesn’t really matter anyway as everyone knows the story, and usually enjoy showing off that they know it as well. * Salomon contracted Haydn for the 1791 and 1792 seasons on his first visit to England, and the 1794 and 1795 seasons on his second visit.

I have (almost 35 years) many CDs from Brilliant Classics, the only disadvantage of the CDs is that if you have polyneuropathy it is difficult to remove them from the cases.I have heard this performance several times, never bored. Why are the CDs not on YT music? Did you know that KZbin really sounds much better when the Chromecast 4K TV is connected to a decent DAC. The Chromecast turns 44.1kHz into 48kHz. Upsampling makes the sound reproduction much better. Didn't hear any difference with Tidal or Apple Music, only when switching, but blindly noticing the difference is for me impossible. Thanks for uploading to KZbin 🤗

There was time when people waited a decade or so for new classical compositions. How far have we come with technology an artist creates a song in a month and right away one can gain access and listen to it as much times as they want.

@francobrunetti5860 Жыл бұрын
Saludos cordiales.
