Sad part is, thats basically the state of the game right now. if you make a big mistake as long as you only have one army and a few settlements, its basically restarting. but if you get 3 armies and a couple of provinces, the steamrolling starts. and around turn 50 you lost interest, because you are already near unbeatable.

I love using Free Company and the Sartosian Militia version (you get them if you're playing Arinessa Saltspite as Vampire Coast) - the mobility is great, and yeah, with some buffs their melee ain't that bad. The mobility is the reason why they're one of the few units I allow to Skirmish (depending on what they're up against) since the line scattering can just result in enemies getting shot in the side and back. Depends on how many I'm usin gtoo though, usually not using an entire army of them hah.

Part of the reason I called this the Gun-only series, rather than the Gunpowder-only series, is so that I can eventually do a broader Gunpowder-only series with the Vampire Coast. They seem so fun, but I would need to do a relatively easy challenge because I'm not as familiar with them.

@@BrilliantStupidity I think you'll have fun with Vampire Coast! I won't say I'm good with them either, but they're super fun - but also quite challenging imo because their bonkers firepower is offset by (mostly) being pretty glass cannon-y. Like, the Deckgunners kinda exemplify the faction imo - super long range, high damage, great rate of fire... and a slight breeze will make them crumble. Definitely looking forward to it!

Another amazing video. But after this playtrough i would like a trolls only playtrough with grom or maybe azhag but if you do the skaven slaves. If you can you try to do skaven slaves and trolls only at same time(doing both)that would be great but If you do the skaven slaves only its fine

I feel like you avoiding the ambush with 100%defense against ambushes is exactly how that should have worked, but also the reason she appeared after you moved past her is everything is registered when the character stops, so you should have stopped right after he and she would have appeared and then have nowhere to run.

12:45 - You have a chance to discover ambushers I believe, when you enter the province and end your movement there, so if you had just tip toed into that province, you would have been able to get her and then move on.

They're definitely not incredible, but they are quite good in some situations. Against slow armored units they can really pull their weight. They do take quite a bit of micro though.

I've also never used free company and just used a gunner frontline with arty support and heroes to tank for the gunners. It always is annoying when the enemy dodges your shot while you don't have the micro to do so.

They're best against high value low model units, like high tier cav, trolls, ushabti, knights of tor gaval etc. And given they have a ton of ammo, and are skirmish units, they can keep firing through most of the battle, getting a lot of value. Also useful as bait units.

If you save and then reload in a quest battle you can auto resolve the battle

With the unit and the number of kills, the free company gets a battle you'd think you were fighting Skaven. Also how well would you fair against skarbrand? Khorne units hit like a truck and are heavily armoured, but at the same time they're slow

I expect that I would fair relatively well against Khorne. Luckily, I have a fairly strong ally between me and them so I can focus on the southern front soon. I'm really concerned about facing Tseench though - they're by far my least favorite faction to fight and I expect that they'll counter me pretty hard.

My big concern is that they might just wipe out half of my army with missiles before I even get in range of them. They do so much non-ap damage and I have like 0 armor. I'm planning to wait until I have 2-3 full armies in position before fully attacking them.

You need 3 warrior priests, 1 jade wizard. And just have the warrior priest and colkmar combo lure the enemy within your checkerboard formation range and have your army just blast at them with your jade wizard smack bang in the middle , popping of earthblood, it's nigh unstoppable mid to late midgame.

Depends on how you play it. It has a mountainous learning curve though. I would recommend starting in Total Warhammer 2. It's very similar but more polished and lacking some if the more... interesting mechanics.

Amd dude, I wish I could start a channel and show people how I get gang fucked by the AI. Almost without fail every game. Him saying the AI makes mistakes made me laugh for five minutes, then realize that I must need to give my life to God because clearly I am being punished for my transgressions. No joke, I can never catch a break. Constant war being declared from all sides and as soon as I try and push one direction the flood from every factions every army comes in the backdoor to push my shit in so deep I cough up yesterdays dinner. Only with some factions where you have allies that can hold their own for five turns do I have a chance to build up defense for a solid counter to the shawshank treatment.
