2B is actually short at about 5'6 in height (yep, heels included) and with it being scaled closer to imports, I think she looks pretty good, especially next to other figma. I think it should be mentioned that 2B herself is physically meant to look like she's in her mid to late-teens (think around 16-17).

And the height kinda fits that stat, but it's the proportions that push it to a smaller scale. Head, hand, and foot size makes it seem more like a very tall 4 inch scale figure.

I get what you mean, but I think that's more to do with her really slender/petite frame combined with her insanely tall stiletto heels. Right next to full-sized adults in the game, 2B physically looks like a teenager. I don't know, I've seen comparisons of the figure next to other Figma and she looks surprisingly in scale (even your comparison with the Figma Deadpool). Ironically, I was actually worried that they'd make her too tall due to the 6-inch label. She's supposed to be 5'6" with heels on. The S.H. Figuarts Black Widow he showed her next to is supposed to be 5'3" (maybe a *bit* taller with the shoes), but she's even significantly shorter than that, so she's even too short for import scale, except for maybe some figma.

I mean, it's meant to be 1/12. 6 inch scale is most close to 1/12 (although already a skewed, slightly over-sized version of 1/12), and given that she is 5.5 feet, her figure being 5.6 inches makes sense, given her heels and all. Her head is small, but I'd say that's more a blame of the character's design itself more so than the figure. So really, in a technical aspect it's completely on point to design in terms of size and proportions. The figure is a bit of a mess though with delicacy and all, but that's a given with how thin parts will be.

Thanks for this review man. I’m a huge fan of this game, it’s like one of top 5 favorite games. And the 2B character and most of the other characters are all oddly propositioned because they are androids. Some of the male androids heads look too small for their own body in some screen shots. I’m definitely buying this , and hopefully square will make more characters like 9S & A2.

Nice review Robo!!! I think if you knew the character the size wouldn't bother you and you'd see it's accurate. I can't wait to get my set. They recently put up for preorder Kaine. She's the main female protagonist from the first game and in my opinion one of the most interesting female characters ever. She has some very interesting battle garb and some awesome swords. Also, I’ve never played this game so I’m gonna just say this not completely knowing how true it is: 2B (I think that is the main girl’s name, if it isn’t please correct me) looks like Raiden from Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance. (great game by the way, if you haven’t played it, or any other Metal Gear game for that matter I still personally recommend it because it’s a bit of a side game which doesn’t really connect to the other main games.)

I agree, it appears small, but as long as the other figures in the line are in scale and the machine 2-pack next month scales as well, I'm satisfied. Bring arts, in my opinion, takes a lot of what was wrong with PAK and improves upon it. Price point isn't unreasonable either

kaleodos that's fine, we all can have our opinions. I preordered from AmiAmi during the first week so my cost was just under $60 for this set. I think 6100-6200 yen. 2 figures for $60? That's nearly hasbro / marvel legends price points. I love my PAKs but I'd be lying if qc issues ranging from those terrible ratchet joints, paint ranging from decent to downright abysmal, amongst other things weren't rampant and consistent. Robo is a honest and strict reviewer, but he was coming from an outsider view with no knowledge of the game. I personally think, if he knew more about the game, he'd be more forgiving about things like scale, the various accessories, proportions, etc. She's a teenage Android, not meant to scale like an adult. Plus Japanese game designers and artists design human proportions differently, since the dawn of time. Also, worth noting, The bring arts sora is damn near perfect. You have to admit one thing. When the PAK line was first introduced (think back to dissidia squall, cloud, and Gabranth - mass effect 3 line, first Tomb Raider croft, etc) compared to when the bring arts line was introduced (Sora, 2B and machine), square has made strides in their engineering and qc. That's not an opinion, but a fact.

Its a shame that SE still have terrible qc even with their newest line, at this point they cannot compete with figmas or even SHFs, maybe with mafex but even those guys are redeeming themselves

I have 27 FF PAK and I've had 5 break due to the ratchet joint locking up, paint freeze, etc. Im extremely careful with my figures, this wasn't even over time, it was within hours of opening. That's nearly 1:5 breaking, 20% chance. Still love them and because I buy from reputable retailers they have all gotten replaced. I'm simply saying they've come a long way since the first PAK to the current PAK. I'm confident bring arts will do the same, and in my opinion, they're already ahead of the ball. The bring arts sora is better than some of the recent PAK today, and certainly better than the first PAK when the line was introduced. The bring arts of NOW are better than the play arts kai of THEN. They'll only improve from here. Looks like they're saving the FF characters for when the QC is on lock, which excites me. 👍

Great review! My figure arrived yesterday and I was wondering if I bought a chinese knockoff figure. But it seems the original figure is just like that, maybe my toy is genuine. In short: this is quite a sh*tty figure. I'm not a fan of Bring Arts Kai, all these fine details are too much for a toy this size. Also, you should really play Nier: Automata, it's an awesome game!!!

My friend streamed this game and it's a pretty cool and interesting game Robo if you ever decide to check it. Just not for everyone since it's very anime inspired. Also I was looking forward to this figure kinda a let down seeing it being so tiny. Honestly the 2B figure is more 1:18 since she's super tiny being 4 inches.The Robot lifeform is really the winner of the set still Square Enix trying to up prices on figures is ridiculous even on this set since a lot of QC issues on 2B. Idk never brought anything play arts Kai related but Bring arts haves me worried since if it's not anything being Square Enix property like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts they put no effort on in it.

On the Fwoosh website, he has more pictures showing she's just around 5.5 inches. This would make her exactly in a 6" scale as 2b's height is stated to be 5'6" with heels (according to the Nier wiki at least). The scale on the S.H. Street Figuarts is the same too; Ryu matches his 5'9" height and Chun Li matches her 5'6" height. I just wish that this scaling carried over to other lines that say they are 6" or 1/12 scale (i.e. Storm Collectibles)

While I sort of like my Play Arts Kai, I prefer other companies. Somehow Square Enix figures can be great but very pricey and also somewhat flawed. I am glad this is getting a rerelease since I am playing the game right now and it's a masterpiece and that the v2 will be better than the first release. Scalewise: I am glad she is in scale with figmas and it seems it is right. 2B is small and western companies tend to make figures way bigger than they should be (great exampl would be Black Series Jaina Solo, she should be more like 2B actually).

I have bought TWO of these, factory sealed, now and both have arrived with duplicate right upper arms. This locks the elbow joint in the wrong direction. Very disappointed. I really spoiled myself with sh figuarts Han solo.

I wonder if Robo will agree about this: I see potential in the Bring Arts line. This 2B is a decent 6/10: great accesories, nice articulation that allows for cool posing & an unique design. However, it's still not as good as a very good SHF or Figma release (when it comes to anime or videogame female characters, it's hard to top figma...it's live action characters where they falter and SHF usually shines). The knees are ugly, the joints feel like 2016 MAFEX & the paintjob is a little bit messy and cheap-looking. Finally, I don't know what's up with that transparent hair but I don't think it looks great. Finally, If you look at her appearence in the game, the facesculpt is quite off. And yeah, she's TINY...I don't think she's THAT small. Overall it's not a bad release but considering the price point Square Enix has to keep improving (just like Mafex did).

IMO the figure doesn't do the game justice sadly.... I'm a huge fan of Nier (even of the clunky PS3 game) but this figure didn't tempt me at all. If Flare's 2B figure has a reasonable price tag then maaaybe

When the preorders for this figure first went up, it was under $70 but it seems Bring Arts prices go up quickly. I still have a while to wait to get mine in since I'm waiting for a figma and two figuarts to come in stock before my order ships. Other than that, every time I hear someone pronounce automata incorrectly I want to stab my eardrums. It's the plural of automaton and should be pronounced au*tom*a*ta and not au*to*ma*ta. But that's neither here nor there.

I'm not trying to pick on you, it's just something that even people who do know the game mess up. Almost every single person I've heard praise the game have all mispronounced it. And why did you type tomato twice? Is there another way to pronounce that word? lol
