Hi:) I would like ask, how do face taping make a difference in the long run? I mean, will you see wrinkles reduced more permanently? - and what does it take to get there? how often do you have to do the taping? Thanks a lot in advance, and also for your lovely videos

No, taping will not offer permanent changes, however, it does help to minimize the mimic wrinkles that are due to overuse of the muscles from facial expressions that are done all of the time. So, wrinkles like 11s and forehead wrinkles are notorious for this issue. When you make facial expressions over and over through the day, wrinkles will occur. But because you will also be making those same facial expressions during the night, nighttime taping can prevent those expressions from happening and soften the wrinkles by the time you wake up. But, if you continue to make the same expressions, you will have the wrinkles again by the end of the day. Typically we recommend taping nightly for about a month and then go to 3 times a week for most people. It can help give your skin a break from the expressions for 8 hours a day, while you sleep. It can be one tool that can help to soften those wrinkles.

By pulling gently on the skin you are positioning the muscles and skin where they need to be (and ensuring there are no wrinkles under the tape) and then taping them in that position. This allows for a little stretch in the tape after application for some movement to naturally happen while sleeping if doing the overnight application. When you stretch the tape to apply, it is very easy to apply the tape too tightly and create a wrinkle as the tape will contract slightly after application if it has been stretched. Also, if we are trying to work on a mimic wrinkle (like the 11’s), and we want to relax the muscle, we don’t want the tape to contract on a muscle we are trying to relax. Overused and tight muscles will cause mimic wrinkles so we want to keep it relaxed and stretched. If you don’t stretch the tape, the tape won’t constrict.

@Christine Tappin The two brands of tape we suggest to people are "Kinesio Tex Gold Light Touch +" and "Spider tech Gentle". I know in the US Kinesio have an Amazon store where you can get the tape, but I believe Spider Tech Does not. We only suggest these two tapes at the moment as we have found these to be the gentlest on skin. That said we strongly advise people do a small test strip before fully taping with any product. Your skin is unique to you and may react differently to the adhesives. Some of the "Face Tapes" out there in the market are really designed for the body and not the face and can cause damage to the more sensitive skin. So care should always be taken. Sorry for the long winded reply, we just want people to have the best information to go by.

For this type of taping it is best to do nightly for a month and then tape 2 to 3 times a week for maintenance. I would also suggest some facial cupping or facial gua sha on the jaw line as well to support the area. Good luck!

We have grouped them in our play lists into which is which so take a peek there to double check as well as the video on the difference between night and lymph taping, so make sure to check those out. But, if you are working with a solid piece of tape it is a night application (can also be worn at night if you want to) and if you are working with tape that is cut into pieces on the ends, that is a daytime only application. The tape with the strips on it help to move the lymph so you need to be moving, thus wearing it during the day. Hope this helps.

@Adrianna Alba Each application does something a little different. They can be used together, one during the day and one during the night, if you choose. The solid tape on the jaw can help to retrain the fascia of the face and offer support while you are sleeping for the jaw area. The other video you are referring to will help to drain the lymph from under the chin and jaw area, so if you tend to get puffy or are dealing with a double chin, this is a great application. Any of the applications with smaller sections cut is for lymph drainage and needs to be done during the day while you are moving around. The solid pieces for taping are more of your nighttime applications. Hope this helps.
