日本人へのお知らせ! To any of you English speakers, I'm just helping the japanese listeners understand the idioms in the lyrics since some of their translations I saw had some bad translations.

I am a Japanese highschool student learning English and a big fan of BMTH. Thank you for your detailed explanation. I find it really helpful. Even as a learner of English, I find some mistakes in translations of lyrics of BMTH's songs into Japanese on individual blogs. I really want writers to be more accurate in their own translation. I wish I could translate BMTH's emotional, beautiful and sometimes lyrical lyrics accurately ,conveying minute nuances, and spread charms of BMTH. By the way, Your Japanese was awesome. ありがとう。

DO NOT CHANGE THE SUBJECT, LET'S GO CHASE THE SUNSET BRING ME THE HORI- You need a taste of your own medicine I think their change of style is good, and I definitely like what they've put out, but it's so different to me knowing that they once were a deathcore band. Personally, I prefer their older stuff, but I do respect their new stuff as well and am looking forward to amo.

@@kamelkadri2843 yeah since it's more profitable and not because the band likes to write music like this... as a musician I know that songwriting depends on the music everyone in a band likes. This song is one of my favorites from the album. I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years, and the person went off and spread all kinds of lies about me, so when I tried to come forward about the abuse, people didn't believe me. So I went silent, while he completely ruined my reputation. When he says, "I cut my teeth and bit my tongue 'til my mouth was dripping blood, but I never dished the dirt, just held my breath, while you dragged me through the mud" it really hits me, because I felt like that was exactly what I was going through. Thankfully, his new girlfriend (now ex) came forward confirming all of the abuse allegations, because he did the same to her. Now he's finally seen as who he really is. It still is upsetting how many people bullied and harassed me because of him, but at least he got a taste of his own medicine in the end. (pun intended)

I just listened to them being interviewed on BBC and I couldn't agree more with what they said. "We could've done the same stuff we've always done, but as artists I think we really wanted to push ourselves more". Seriously hearing the same BMTH style album year after year would be awful, I love their old stuff but It's great they're experimenting with new sounds!

Eduardo Lopes How could you try new stuff in metalcore ? That’s why they strayed away from that, they actually wanted to make a name for themselves, be bigger and do what they want to do. Even they thought metalcore would not last. These latest singles have shown that they’re versatile and experimental but at the same time recognizing where they’ve come from. They still play their deathcore songs and a few songs have metal/rock elements.

I honestly don't get the amount of hate for this song, lmao. BMTH put out 2 other songs that were pretty heavy sounding. This is a bit of a changeup, but that's fine. It doesn't mean it will speak for the rest of the album. If anything, it means the record is incredibly diverse in genres. That's a good thing. That means they're establishing themselves as artists rather than just a Metalcore band. Everybody goes through this eventually. Bands of the past like Linkin Park and Incubus did this when they got to their early 30s too. Nothing new here. I personally love the new sound just as much as their old sound and have been a fan since Suicide Season and can't wait to hear the rest of amo.
@lucasvbishop
@lucasvbishop 5 жыл бұрын
"2 other songs that were pretty heavy sounding" Mantra is no where near heavy, wonderful life is ok but still pretty weak. They haven't dropped anything truly heavy since Simpeternal. As a fan since Suicide Season it kills me to see the transition. If they would drop some truly heavy music as well as pop I'd be fine and happy with it, but instead we get pop songs and soft rock with metalcore elements.

Either way it’s probably hard to come out with as heavy music and make it new every time. Changing a style just keeps the ideas coming. The band members have even said they loved linkin park so it’s not surprising they could try that route like they did. Good music is good music.

Steven Narey Well there aren’t a lot of bands that can stick to the same style. Writing music isn’t as easy as some of us think and to expect a band that’s been around for awhile to keep putting out the same style that feels completely different is kind of crazy. Yes it’s awesome when they can pull it off but it’s hard. To me if a band can pull off multiple styles, they’re even better.

Lyrics: Some people are a lot like clouds, you know (Clouds, you know, clouds, you know) 'Cause life's so much brighter when they go You rained on my heart for far too long (Far too long) Couldn't see the thunder for the storm Because I cut my teeth and bit my tongue Till my mouth was dripping blood But I never dished the dirt, just held my breath While you dragged me through the mud I don't know why I tried to save you 'cause I can't save you from yourself When all you give a shit about is everybody else [Pre-Chorus] And you just can't quit, why don't you deal with it? I think it's time to stop [Chorus] You need a taste of your own medicine 'Cause I'm sick to death of swallowing Watch me take the wheel like you, not feel like you Act like nothing's real like you So I'm sorry for this, it might sting a bit [Verse 2] Some people are a lot like clouds, you know (Clouds, you know, clouds, you know) 'Cause life's so much brighter when they go And I spent too long in a place I don't belong I couldn't see the thunder for the storm [Pre-Chorus] But you won't admit, why don't you get a grip? 'Cause you can't keep going on and on and on and on like this And you just can't quit, why don't you deal with it? I think it's time to stop [Chorus] You need a taste of your own medicine 'Cause I'm sick to death of swallowing Watch me take the wheel like you, not feel like you Act like nothing's real like you So I'm sorry for this, it might sting a bit [Bridge] 'Cause I cut my teeth and bit my tongue Till my mouth was dripping blood But I never dished the dirt, just held my breath While you dragged me through the mud Yeah, I cut my teeth and bit my tongue Till my mouth was dripping blood But I never dished the dirt, just held my breath While you dragged me through the mud [Pre-Chorus] And you just can't quit, why don't you deal with it? I think it's time to stop [Chorus] You need a taste of your own medicine 'Cause I'm sick to death of swallowing Watch me take the wheel like you, not feel like you Act like nothing's real like you So I'm sorry for this, it might sting a bit Taste of your own medicine (Taste of your own medicine) Yeah, I'm sick to death of swallowing (Sick to death, oh) Watch me take the wheel like you, not feel like you Act like nothing's real like you So I'm sorry for this, it might sting a bit [Outro] Some people are a lot like clouds, you know (Clouds, you know, clouds, you know) 'Cause life's so much brighter when they go

How come it's okay to accept that Paramore, Panic! At the Disco, & a bunch of other bands have changed their style of music but suddenly BMTH changes & everyone is upset? I think it's cool how they are changing their style. The vocals are really good, the beat is catchy. this isn't bad

Panic! At the disco were never one genre. Who knows what panic! At the disco are? It's kinda like pigeon holing them to put them into a genre when they don't have a fixed genre, same for paramore whereas these guys are labelled at metalcore etc

What an ignorant statement. Bands like Paramore and Panic! At The Disco were not even close to the musical style of early BMTH, this clearly states that you have not listened to early BMTH and probably became a fan when Sempiternal was released. Feel like you are saying that Paramore and Panic! At The Disco were playing riffs in Drop A tuning filled with chugs and screams.

They have been changing their sound and the reception to that has been pretty positive. With this song in particular though, it feels like a different genre all together, more pop than rock. Which isn’t a bad thing in itself, but this one feels pretty generic and uninspired. Not that you’re wrong for liking it, if the mainstream pop sound vibes with you that’s totally fine, but most of us aren’t listening to this band because we like pop rock, I’d imagine.

I would know, Ive been aware of the band since their first EP

The band barely exists. Its just Oli and abunch of producers. Back in the day they actually had to play instruments and Oli had to use his talent to scream. THAT was talent. Using filtered up pop beats and shit isn't talent. Anyone can learn to produce and Oli is a better screamer than a singer.

As a BMTH fan since Chelsea Grin. One of my top 5 albums of all time. From all artists/bands. Is That's the Spirit by BMTH. Which sounds NOTHING like the original sound in which brought me to BMTH in the first place. and incase you want to try to diminish my opinion saying i probably like Pop only. 1.
