@@nolanb9466 are you sure? It sounds like fry and false chord to me. A lot less voice than he used during suicide season and there is a hell. Though, he does sound a little weird when doing fry screams, no enough grit sometimes and ends up sounding like a rock singer from the 80's haha
@nolanb94665 жыл бұрын
@@danerdnerdos7384 When he does the higher range of screams, he is supposed to use the top most layer of his vocals chords. Clearly, he cannot get that high without his voice crackling and moving towards the back of his throat, and you can hear it. This is because a few years ago he was using drugs during recording sessions, on top of his already injured vocal chords from suicide season, equates to even more damage going into that's the spirit. That's why he took a few months off from recording, for pure vocal rest. I used to be in metal bands before starting my own thing, and I uses to scream and growl, etc., for 7 years. I had the same issues during the last 2 years, wherein I could still do it, but only once and a while after I've had time to recuperate, and even then it would only damage me more. That's because Oli and people like myself never actually had proper training. Trust me, he shouldn't be doing that, and it really doesnt sound good.

Christopher Chambers I don’t really understand this. Oli is 32 years old and has already a damaged voice. I know about his wrong screaming drinking alcohol and not warming up for years but he didnt do that for that long. I would say he did that about 8 years. From 2003-2011. Since 2012 he always warms up and takes care of his voice and I don’t think he screamed wrong since then. But still he loses his voice sometimes and has to be really carreful. If you look at Sam carter or Winston McCall from Architects and Parkway Drive. They scream for a long time now and still don’t lose their voice. So I ask myself: Did These 8 Years really fuck his voice so bad that he has to be so careful right now ?

His gutturals are 100% still there. Never was a fan of the higher pitched screams, anyways. I wish he would incorporate the gutturals into the poppier stuff sometimes.

Still got it. I'm actually impressed, BMTH haven't forgotten where they came from and remember their older fans. It's nice to see, especially considering how different they sound these days. Must have been a real surprise for the fans there.

i'll say this as someone who only started listening recently: if i were at their concert and this came on i'd still enjoy it, sure it's not what i usually listen to but i think in a concert atmosphere there's hardly anything i wouldn't enjoy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ doesn't mean i would add it to my playlist but i'd still appreciate the song (not to distract here but i think this is an awesome thing for newer fans anyways as at least in my experience metal and heavy metal fans are some of the nicest people alive so from my perspective i'd be going to a concert to listen to my favorite music with the nicest crowd i could wish for ;)
@schizophrenicdolphinz98225 жыл бұрын
I think someone form of core is gonna get big within the next 5 years , knocked lose is getting a lot of traction , bmth is doing this stuff , a lot of rappers talk about hard core or release hardcore concept albums . It’s all coming back

These performances of P4P are so much better than the early days... look at one from 2011 when his voice was fucked. Now they’re aggressive & a tribute to the perfection that is the original recording

@Ziggy_Layne5 жыл бұрын
You could hear it in his voice that he hadn't done highs like that in at least a decade or longer.
@CrossfireTutorials954 жыл бұрын
@@Ziggy_Layne He tries to apply fry vocals as highs instead of false chords and fails. As far as I could figure, he used to use false chords even with the really high notes on their older stuff, which can get dangerous for the vocal chords if you lose control over the scream. He either needs to practice his fry vocals or just stick with what's possible for him with false chords that sound quite decent tbh.
