Being bulgarian, the intro was very familiar to me the instant i heard it. What might be more interesting to whoever is reading this, is that the song that they sampled is in 7/8 , so they didn’t only downpitch it, they also tried to straighten the rhythm out by repeating the last bit of each bar, so it turns into a 8/8 (4/4) feel. :)

Amo was great, and when I put BMTH on shuffle and it just makes you appreciate the diversity of their music. You may here TIAH song, then a TTS and then go back to CYB or Sempiternal. Then it’ll switch it up to some Amo songs and suicide season. Now with this new record, it adds so much to the BMTH sound

Haha. ERM wtf you talking about. Oli is massively involved in writing and producing. Even directing the videos. Jordan has actually said in a recent interview that Oli is the 1 that comes up with all the idea. Writes all the lyrics. And has alot to do musically too. Oli is the man and Jordan is a very close 2nd. But both of them are very smart people. Where you got that idea from is insane. If you watch their makings of these songs. You'll see it's all Oli and Jordan.

@DarkSoulx7 they were just an emo scene band of the bunch before Jordan, it's thanks to him they became a household name in modern metal, AND Oli's efforts after rehab too. It's the harsh truth, if you liked them before that's fine, I like many songs from their pre sempiternal time myself, but Jordan was definitely part of the turning point for them and thanks to both him and Oli BMTH have the rep and appeal they have now.

how does this sampling thing work legally? It sounds very cool in the song, but how can you just copy, like a whole verse of a song basicly, and use that as an intro? As someone who wants to get into production this is really interesting to me, but also I don't know how I feel about it, and how it would work legally and ethicly. Can someone chime in for me, or give me a link or something where I can read up on it?

I’ve heard 2 things but don’t know whether it’s bullshit or not, I heard off one person that when it’s not being tampered with, it can only be a certain length and heard off another person that you have to change the sample a certain number of times to do with tone, tempo, arrangement etc

Plus I think with this sample of the Bulgarian folk song, it was probably written hundreds of years ago and then passed down through generations. Since copyright didn't exist back then, one person cannot be credited with writing it (like nursery rhymes). Therefore it's copyright free.
