Each year we bring the ranch wagons out of storage and proudly display them. Buckboard wagons to covered wagons to flatbed wagons. Bringing them out this year poses challenges as they have been in storage for almost two years due to construction.

Thank you Mike. The history and wagon show were awesome, but the thanks offered to our servicemen and women was really special. My father was a Vietnam vet, dealing with demons for years after his return stateside. I honor his service and his Bronze Star immensely. He wasn’t perfect, but honestly, no man is. That is God’s purview. We all do the best we can. Our family never went hungry, or worried about a roof over our head. How I wish all our children could say that. God Bless you and your family. May Mother Nature Bless you as well.

Let us all remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great country. Memorial Day while used by many as a kickoff to summer with BBQs and parties and celebrations, should not forget what Memorial Day is truly for. As everyone enjoys the holiday, remember those that died for our freedom that made BBQs, parties, and celebrations possible. God Bless those who gave their lives, and God Bless the families of those who gave their lives. 🇺🇸

Here in the UK, our remembrance day is "The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when we remember all lost service personnel since WW1 I personally use it to remember all downed personnel from any of our allies especially the USA "WE Will Remember Them... General Pershing picked that time to sign the Armistice (peace treaty) of WWI. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). The Elks use the eleventh hour to remember all departed Elks. General Pershing thought that would also work for remembering veterans. It was known as Armistice Day until after WWII. The name was then changed to Veteran's Day. The Elks, along with many other organizations, wear red on Fridays to remember veterans. Remember Everyone Deployed (RED).

My father used to put flat rocks under the wagon wheels when they were going to ‘set’ a while. [He was the last man to haul grain to our local elevator with horses] Would patio bricks help keep these wagons set clear of the ground and make it easier to move them. And Memorial Day is special. Your wagon move is appropriate for the holiday. Memories of what has gone before and the people who serve. God Bless you.

My father served in the Army during WWII. He was injured when a bomb detonated in very close range and spent about 6 months in a hospital in Italy. He had several pieces of shrapnel in his back that they couldn’t remove. They bothered him from time to time, but he never complained. He never talked about the war or what happened until he was old. Then it seemed like he had to finally deal with it before he died. He was a good man. I also lost a large number of classmate during the Vietnam War. Now I have a grandson in the Air Force who is getting ready to serve in Italy. I pray for all the families who have lost a loved one and for those who are serving now. May our Heavenly Father bless each one of you.

Hi, Mike. I love your videos and this is no exception! I was unaware of the 'minute' of remembrance on Memorial Day! Thank you for this new knowledge! My dad was a Fighter Pilot in the Marines and gave the ultimate sacrifice 28-MAR-66 while flying his A-4E Skyhawk. Had decided on a late and lazy kind of Sunday breakfast for a change and what a gift you had posted a little earlier Mike! Great video Mike. I think it's a tribute to your nature , that you care enough to traditionalize (is that a word)(?), the honoring of history concerning your ranch . Also loved that you took time to mention those that made the ultimate sacrifice. A little side note ; It would be neat to see a canvas placed on that covered wagon. One with " OUR WYOMING LIFE " emblem on the side . Maybe it could make the project list.

Looks like you did a great job on it. There is a place in Montana that refurbishes old wagons. I was watching some you tube videos yesterday afternoon about making the hubs and wheels. Hi Mike! As I recall the term for guys who fixed wagon wheels back in the day is Wheelright. Hey do you rinse that blender before you make Margaritas? :) My Memorial Toast to our lost Brothers is "To Absent Companions." Terry - Justin Texas

I bet theses wagons could tell every stories from what they were used for to kind of people who operated them way before trucks. I see the fox decided to have itself filmed!! Surprised he or she didn't decide to pull faces or mooning at it, lol I'm guessing the rooster is still alive, or did he taste good, 😁

I a enyoy watching your videos, I have never been to Wyoming I find it vary interesting state. I live in Bakersfield California. Do you ever use horses to round up the cows? I am an animal lover and would give them carrots. Here ranchers get truck loads of baby carrots for them. Thank you so much for teaching me about your state

Mike I think it is wonderful how you keep up traditions that gilbert did. I'M wondering what he would think of this youtube ting I'M feel like he would think it is a bunch of nonsense. LOL Gilbert sounds like a man I would of liked and had a lot of respect for. I think the old wagons cool for some reason I have always liked the old horse drawn stuff and the old farm equipment. Have a great memorial day weekend. God Bless the America the ranch and Mike and erin and Kids!!! I want to thank all those who have served in the military to protect this country so we might get to enjoy or freedom. Also want to pray for those families who have lost family memberts serving to protect this great country we call home!!!

The final wagon that you moved, any idea how old it is? It looks like it would have been used as a cargo wagon. My great-great-grandfather used to have a farm near Piedmont, SD. According to his obituary, he was found dead (1889) on the road to Belle Fourche from Piedmont in his wagon. I'm thinking he might have had a heart attack as he was 57 at the time of his death. He is buried in the Piedmont Cemetary.

Find your closest Tex Cote dealer. The coating over wood, metal, stucco or plastic is a lifetime product. Roll it on after cleaning prior. Those wagons will never need to be touched again. It's a great winter or rain day project. Its fire resistant, waterproof, breathes, mold and termite/bug proof. About twice the cost of paint. It doesnt fade, reflects 36 to 40 degrees of heat. US military uses it for infrared and ultraviolet reflectivity. It's like adding r19 4" stud wall in one coating. NASA, homedepot, lowes never paint after build. They tex Cote at build. Love the channel. I sell it vs paint on stucco in San Diego.

You dont have to barn them in the winter. Just pull the canvas. Two less jobs yearly on the project list and Gilbert looks down at as good as new wagons on display always. The coating is water proof..beyond belief.

Patch wood with flex patch. It flexes is sanded after primer coat. Makes wood wheels and boards look like new. It's the strongest part of the wood like a broken bone for humans.

If you cant find it. Go to the texcote.com web site. Choose colors. Black for metal. Ect and I'll get my contractor to shoot a price. The metal is great on navy ships turns ships ect invisible to heat detection except exhaust. Us military paid for research and development. Watch Sweedish homestead and justin Rhodes, Ricjard perkins on utube. Let the animals help with the heavy lifting in gardens and high tunnels in the winter. Darn no trees for mulch free is a bummer. Improvise..
