Bringing Baby Home | First 24 Hours with a Newborn

Whatsup KZbin Family, TODAY is the day we are BRINGING BABY HOME! Yes the day has finally arrived and we are going to pick up baby Braxton from the NICU and bring him home! He has been in the NICU a little over a month, and the days of traveling back and forth to see him are over! We can’t wait to introduce him to our dog Bentley for the first time. (Baby meets dog) He also has a big day over the next 24 hours including his first pediatrician visit! This next 24 hours with a newborn is going to be a wild ride as we all get adjusted to our new life as a family of 3. I can already tell feedings are going to be the first hurdle due to the preemie techniques we have to use. Bringing baby home means the diaper changes now fall on us and we can forget about sleep! Bring on the swaddling competitions between me and Ash! We definitely have to finish the nursery ASAP so be on the lookout for the nursery room tour!

I can’t get over how good you look after the first night with baby 😭 and you are wearing JEANS! I know he was born a few weeks prior but still. I was a hot mess during my daughter’s first pediatrician appointment. If you looked that good and confident, I can only imagine how much of a badass toddler mom you’re going to be!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful family and experience. I'm 25 weeks and had to go out on leave for "bedrest" to avoid early labor and/or miscarriage. I can't explain how hopeful this makes me feel and it definitely helps me get through some of the anxiety and fears of having a baby arrive very early. Thank you so much!

@@shyspeaks9238 my baby was just born! 36 wks and 4 days. The day after my pessary was removed (the pessary was inserted due to a late finding for an incompetent cervix) my water broke and instantly went into labor. Thank goodness baby is safe and doing well at home. The frequent ultrasounds and doctor visits to assess my cervical length and baby's development alleviated so much anxiety. It is such a huge advantage to have help, particularly when you're in bed rest, since every day activities like lifting and pushing common objects are a risk factor to losing a baby.

We were there for just a couple days but Braxton had to stay almost 2 months! In NICU… we came every single day though to be with him.

@@OJsPerception totally understand 💔 I have a 7 year old and he was born at 25 weeks.. he was born on June 13 discharged on October 9 its was very hard and same I was there everyday until he came home

@@OJsPerception and currently I'm 29 weeks pregnant and it brings me so much comfort that if baby girl were to come now ..she has a higher chance survival 🙌.. I am ok bedrest due to my cervix shortening and honestly she can come any day now.. but at least she's more developed..and dr. Told me baby girls due better in nicu than boys so that makes me feel a little more at peace
