Way back in the 90s, we had a White Premier Padmini and a Black Ambassador. I was once dropped home in my father's friend's Maroon contessa. One thing which I could observe as a kid was the seats were plush and comfortable. Good ol' days man!

This was the second generation of Hindustan Contessa. The first generation was launched in near 1984 which was powered by Hindustan Ambassador NA Petrol Engine.

1.8 Isuzu is one of the best petrol engine and sounds good. And always wanted to Install a this engine into my Petrol Amby (1.5). Talking about contessa it was only INDIAN muscle car back in 80s and 90s.Cool started without much of hiccup though.Restoring to originall glory will be a challenge, But just make it two door contessa. I had a dream of that.

somewhere near to or opposite to aga khan palace in pune there is a apartment which has a lot of old cars lying in its basement , i am not sure it is still there but when is was working there in Hyatt pune we used to stay in this particular apartment and the around 5-6 very old vintage cars used to be there in the parking, the location is opposite to aga khan palace, do check it

Isko fully restore kar dijiye, to sab log is Contessa ko dekhte rahenge. Aaj kal ki bakwas car models dekh kar sar dard ho raha hai. Ye model 1980s ki hai. Itni popular to nahin thi. Ye car aapne saamne se kuchh modify kiya hua hai. Saamne se thoda alag tha, jahan tak mujhe yaad hai.

For this particular one papers are valid, insurance and PUC everything so it's road legal. Maybe in few tier 1 cities it may not be but in Bhopal, MP it currently is legal.

Currently my chacha's garage caught fire at night and our contessa front right side also caught fire and wiring cough fire my cacha is will make all new wirings and timing chain cover also melted because it was of plastic however he has to change timing chain he will bring that car in working condition soon because he loves that car ! If possible i will send you all photos of our contessa!
