Always have a pull down system in place when dealing with the Big Stuff!

Andrew, do you know of anyone who modified their big ray by adding an attachment line where the body and the bucket tails join. The line could be pulled to flip the kite front to back, thus deflating it. My sense tells me that the line would be a bother to manage and would likely rip the sail when it would be pulled forward from below to flip the kite. What do you think?

If you pull the tail forward on n the way that you imagine, then immediately you power up the kite and it will have caused chaos and destruction ling before it reaches the depower position you desire. Even in the extreme case of the mega flags where we essentially cut the main line and catch the kite by the trailing edge, for the 4 seconds that it takes for the flag to flip over, the tension on the tail line is at 100% of the flying tension on the main line. Nice try... but no cigar :-)
