Hey everyone! I hope you guys like this 1927 Model T coupe that my friend Matt found for me... I mentioned to him that I wanted a "tall T" in all-original condition, and did he ever find the right one!
She's a barn-stored, one-family owned car, stored since the late 40s, according to the info I got from the gentleman that sold me the car. He bought some T's at a farm auction in Saskatchewan last year, and was just going to use the rougher ones to make a T racer, and agreed to sell me this sweetie!
I never thought I'd find such a nice untouched one at an affordable price, so I am just thrilled with it. Plans are to make it run well enough to putt around the yard, and eventually go through the mechanicals and restore the interior so it can be driven as much as possible!
Meanwhile, I am not stopping on the 60 Fury, and the SM still needs finishing, so after the T is running, I'll be storing it til a couple of the others are sorted...

For a Canadian T, this is amazingly well... kept? This thing must have been rarely driven. I know you said it was parked after WWII... but, it really _looks_ like it was parked well before then. You got a keeper there, Scott! I'm curious about the 4-banger under the hood. We didn't see that... but, I know you're saving the good stuff! Something tells me, after a 'lil maintenance, she'll fire right up! This Lizzie's a sweet bitch!

Holy cow!!!! There's no way you could ever ask for a better original project car - almost completely untouched, solid and tells stories, like with the homemade fender repairs and a even a period battery. Honestly, as is, this T is damn near a reference car - like, I never once knew until this video that the T's were available with a tire inflator that was powered by plugging it into one of the spark plug housings. Air from engine compression - that's bordering on genius. Wow - what a pleasure seeing such an untouched, untainted car. Sure, they made more than 15 million T's during their 19 year run from 1908-1927, but it's still breathaking to see such a pristine 92 year old car like this.

I still after years of seeing un restored cars don't understand the charm of something that needs a paint job or a restoration. Aside from lack of funds, I think full repaint of something with that kind of weathered paint is best, but of course I still don't understand the charm of rat rods either. I'd love to have a car like that, maybe someday who knows, and early automobiles are pretty scarce these days, or they seem that way to me. When I was young, I would pour over books about how folks were restoring pre twenties vehicles, sometimes with only a frame and drivetrain still attached, like stutz bearcats or such like that, early roadsters. I think if I could, like if I was well off or just able to, I'd spend the rest of my days rebuilding old cars, maybe some newer cars for those who are needy and need help in transportation and are trying to help themselves etc. When one thinks about it, there are very few people around who were alive in the twenties, and those able to have been driving in the twenties are all dead,...ha, well, I would figure as much at least. We know that car is in good hands, with your expert metal working skills, any rust or meta damage will be fixed.

The window glass is dangerous in those cars. It's Crystal glass, if broken it breaks into sharp shards. In the Model-T clubs it's required to change all glass to safety glass, and they don't knock off points for not being original. At least you'll have a safety glass windshield. Keep up the great work.

There is virtually no rust in it. I want to see it running and then i want to see you drive it because the accelerator isn't the accelerator, the brake isn't the brake and the clutch, it aint a clutch. Have fun. I just love the windscreen wiper. i have a rare vw truck (type200) and i thought it was basic as it had a 2 speed wiper motor with only one blade. The old ford doesn't have a wiper motor, just a wiper handle and a blade. LOL I love the simplicity. I like the old green buick by the workshop door.

DEAN TAURUS GL! I've already done my raving and drooling over on Patreon on the Tall T, but man, just can't stop grinning about it. What a ridiculously awesome project. The originality of it is simply amazing and what would make it so appealing to me also, just like you guys. Drives me nuts to see the usual customizations, slammings, later model comforts being done to old rides... It's why old cars "do it" for me, after all - at their core, it's the ability to peer back in time through their prisms. Damn...did I just get deep or something there? Sorry, won't happen again. Promise. - Ed on the Ridge

A stupendous, jaw dropping, original shape, find. So incredible, I went looking for the old, " *You can have a Model T in any color* ...."(spelled wrong on purpose. American spelling) Turns out he might, and he might not have said it. If he did, was an off the cuff remark it seems. Anyway, in going through some stuff discovered spray painting didn't happen until the mid 20's, and T's were brush painted originally. I'm trying to find when they switched, but haven't found it yet, but has me thinking that the brush paint is original. Also in my inquiry, found that 1927 was the last year. Learn something new, yada yada yada. How close was this one to the last one?

I used to teach this stuff - I'd ask my students why Ford painted early T's black. The first answer I got, every time, was "'cause it was the cheapest!" Not so, I replied - in fact, black was pretty expensive paint. They were painted black because it dried the fastest...

Really??? That's like asking: "Would you like to get vertical and breath today"??? YES, FOR SURE I would like to see a "When it runs" video. Never knew Ford used those "honeycomb" radiators. That one looks pretty nice too !! What would you ever do without Dean?? Nice that this car, being the latest T, has the wire wheels instead of the wooden ones. I love the brushed paint job!! Probably done with a 4" or 6" brush commonly used in the day for painting entire rooms/buildings. I think these cars sold new for ?? $430.00 USD ?? Story goes, those floor boards were the glass crates since Ford was still "buying" glass in 1927. Is the electrolyte still in the battery?? I saw a video awhile back about re-vitalizing a battery that included pouring out the electrolyte and putting something else in the battery while charging it. I'll see if I can re-locate that video. Seems like the only rust damage is that rear panel. I know you won't, but I bet that panel is available for $50.00 and it's probably "bolt-in". You need to do your T like your friends A pickup. Those repairs on the fenders are "kool" but I couldn't help needing to restore them. Nothing like "pristine" old Ford fenders. Both T and A. Love that tire pumper. Never seen one of those before. My pickup is a Model A, 29 Closed Cab. Not too different from your T. Of course, mine is "OVER" half reproduction and a street rod project. Once the 57 is complete, you will be seeing videos of "Old Hank". ;o) Any case, "congrats" on "The Find". Can't wait to hear it "Purr" !!! 👍👍👍👍🤠🤓😎

What a beautiful score! I wonder what the inertial formula is for the conversion of Dean and Scott power to horsepower. I swear the steering wheel looks like an old valve wheel on a fire 2 boiler, built around that same era or earlier in a huge factory mill complex i worked at back in the 80s. Some really great time machine stuff there! Some old jeans are worth serious money, surprisingly, that pair may be worth more than the car! Lol! 6 volt battery, see that snowmobile over there? Lol! I just can't wait to see and hear it putt putt putt on around the coldwar acreage! With Frankers riding shotgun! Lol! Upon further review, I believe you should have a special edition collector's series of Deans, Uncle Shits and some of the regular appearing agents along with a nostalgic Stella version and Frankers along with your face Scott on either a T shirt and or coffee mugs too. Hell, maybe some of the vehicles as well. Boy i really feel like a shlub with my Phillip Morris Marlboros when there's Sportsmans extra milds to be had and savoured for our pure smoking enjoyment, boy do i feel outclassed! Lol! There were other front wheel drives before the Mini; as you mention the Cord, and a famous and largely sold one was the Citroen Traction Avant built from 1934 to 1957. But the Mini was a ground breaker in that it ushered in the use of FWD in small economical cars and that format eventually became widely adopted.

A curious find indeed, especially with all those surprising old period items you found ? And the cig box piece ? Funny ! But very unusual in that it's such a Time Capsule.. Can't wait to see First Start on it Now, Magic ! Cheers.

That is an awesome 27 T! I have a 26 "Fordor" sedan I bought in Minnesota 24 years ago. Check under the seats--the sedan has a tool storage area there, maybe you will find the original tool roll hiding. I loved the cigarette box resto!

Old Ford's gather at the Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Dearborn Michigan every summer. Your new buggy would not be out of place there. Great find.

That is a nice T. Actually in better shape than the Plymouth was. I remember those tire inflators when I was a kid in the 50s. Still a lot of flat head sixes and eights around so the spark plugs were easy to get to and remove. Probably available back then at Western Auto or J.C. Whitney. Definitely do a series on the Model T. Snyder's has a good catalogue available with nearly everything you will need in the way of parts. Still my favorite blog on the net.

I collect old cigarette stuff since I was 13yo and I know from experience what it feels when you find stuff in that condition and you're trying to restore it. I've found things in far far worse condition than that box (which I don't have I might add)! You can do it agent! Restore that shit!! Cheers from Buenos Aires!

Bucket list dream car in my book for sure. Not likely to find one any time soon here in England that isn't a rusty rolling chassis at best for sensible money. Can't wait to see how your adventures unfold! Cheers.

Brings a tear to my eye. My dad and I restored model Tees in the late 60s he did most cuz that was the car of his youth. But I can always say I know how to drive one :-) good for you! Enjoy!

If you don’t do a “will it run” you must hate the world. And since we know you don’t, do a “will it run”. Please

Well I don't see how you could get away with NOT doing a "Will it Run" video/series on this one. What a treat! Would also like to see you wash/tidy part of a panel to see what it looks like under decades of dust.

My god, you’ve excelled this time! An original unmolested T is a hell of a find. Got it running yet? I wouldn’t be able to resist fiddling with it

Outstanding find on the tall T. My dad used to smoke Sportsman brand in the 60s. Still got the cans. You are going to need a bigger yard.

Very exciting, it's so different. It's like an ANCIENT ALIEN VEHICLE, that Aliens drove, and they smoked Sportsman Cigarettes and took care of our forests, that's not so bad!
