Hey Dustin, just wanted to give a few tips to help out with this build, you can delete the break pad wear sensor by cutting the tip and twisting the wires together and tucking the harness way. You also can have the light for the seats deleted via bimmer pro Geeks using an Android tablet, or pay someone to code it out remotely. If you go with a full coilover set up you would have to do the same.

In Forza Motorsport I did a 1:38.448 on Laguna Seca in a stock M2. The suspension and tire upgrades made a huge difference. It had a little understeer after the apex of the corner. Also the brake upgrade helped with apex entry.

Quick comment on the Brake Fluid/Bleed/Flush process. For the DIY-er without BMW tools that actuate the ABS pump to 'push the fluid out', disconnect the battery and the brake pedal feel returns to what a normal (non-brake by wire) system feels like, since that's the backup fail-safe mode if power is cut (so you still have brakes in an emergency). This lets you more effectively bleed the brakes. I can't imagine how much work it was for you guys to have bled the brakes with the battery still connected. Secondly the brake error you got was not likely from bleeding but rather from retracting the rear brake piston without going through the process that BMW documents. Again for the DIY-er at home without using any official or aftermarket BMW software, just keep that battery disconnected while going through the process and the car won't be 'surprised' that fluid levels, piston position etc. have changed suddenly - which might otherwise suggest a brake failure if it happened while driving. Keep up the progress!
@NegativeCamber132 ай бұрын

Can anyone clarify if dustin put the rotors on the correct side interms of the slots? In the past when ive changed slotted rotors on my own big brakes ive always aswell as being advised by the manufacture (DBA) to have the lower side of the slot contact the pad first while the rotors in rotation therefore expelling the heat outwards towards the barrel of the wheel and not inwards to the hub such as dustins car would appear. Not saying its wrong but just wondering what Girodisk or Bmw reccomend?
@braytonia10 ай бұрын
From my experience running Girodisc rotors, when I installed mine, they were labeled right and left. So I imagine Dustin has them on correctly because they should come labeled straight from Girodisc.

Cross your fingers about the brake fluid flush. BMW is always over engineered. Without the power brake bleed you may end up with air bubbles stuck in the system. You may be fine but best to get the dealership to bleed the system b4 tracking. I'm a mechanic with my own garage. Not that I know more than you, but I do have some experience with BMW and these types of things. Stoked on the build!!!

The reason it’s in the back of the motor is because the timing components for B58/S58 are on the back of the engine, which the oil pump is driven from there, hence where the oil filter housing location is on the car 😬 - for wet sump engines the filter housing is always close to the oil pump
