What a beautiful little dog Charlie is. We took ours into the garden every couple of hours to try to train him. He was a beautiful dog and immensely missed. I have 2 more but they are all so special. You are doing really well and you love him which is obvious. Just keep talking to him. Puppies are very responsive to that and will increase the bonding between you. Lots of luck. Happy belated birthday Debbie! What a wonderful gift Debbie ❤️ You’ll find he’ll be unsettled for the first week or two, & that he’ll settle better being in with you & Andrew. It’s the company little Charlie will miss, as he’s been around his mum & siblings up until this point. Both my dogs as puppies cried, & came in with me for at least the first few weeks until they started to settle down a bit. By bringing his crate into your room, if he sleeps in it, you’ll find that’s a really big achievement! He’ll soon see it as a safe place. It’s really more the company for pups, the knowledge you’re there, that settles them. It really is like looking after a baby those first few weeks, lots of taking them out, seeing if they’ll do wee’s & poo’s, cleaning up after accidents, recognising the signs of when they need the bathroom (full tummies!), playing with them, keeping them entertained, they sleep on & off too until they’re just a tad older & start to understand when night time is & then their body clocks adjust with yours. A lot of people find the puppy side of things very hard (even I struggled at times), but it really is very rewarding & it’s always good to remember after a few sleepless nights that it’ll be over before you know it & they’ll be in their tween phase soon enough! Oh & if you can invest in some puppy pads please do! They really do come in handy for everything. Even when potty trained they can still have the occasional accident. Great for the back of the car & play pen too. He is BEAUTIFUL guys! I had a Charlie chops too, he was a King Charles cavalier ! Charlie’s are wonderful!! Big kisses & cuddles to Charlie from me. Happy parenting guys, you’re already doing wonderfully! ❤️ (And you’re right, it really is trial & error!) xx

Charlies just simply gorgeous, yous r definitely blessed with a wee darlin there. Aww happy birthday for yesterday, what a great day to bring Charlie home - my toy poodle wouldn’t settle in kitchen or living room so I done the same brought her crate to the bedroom and if she cried I could put my hand down and say it’s ok mummy’s here and she would settle - she used to in her crate at 10/11 and she didn’t need out during nite she would last to about 6am and then straight out she’s 5 next Friday and she sleeps on my bed but her crate is still there if she wants and she can go in and out it when she pleases - ur doing a great job, I’d keep him upstairs as it’s a big adjustment for him leaving his pup mates and puppy mum and dad xxx
