I went to purchase a new vette over the weekend. Can you tell me is everyone doing this $20,000 automatic surcharge because of supply and demand? They wouldn't come off of the price at all. I was looking at a 2023 1lt . Sticker was $77900 so they now priced it at over $98,000. Then they tried to lowball me $5,000 below KBB for my 2015 3LT So I walked away.

Talk about attending an epic event. This was great Mike. Just two questions, do you have any idea of how many Vettes turned out for this event and, was there any tech inspection done before you were allowed out on the track? That's it. Save the Wave 🙋‍♂

It sure was epic, it’s not quite Corvettes at Carlisle, but it’s close. I think the final count was somewhere in the neighborhood of 300+ Vettes. No tech inspection cause it’s not true track time, it’s just parade laps. 👍😊

Thanks MIke. Yeah, we have "Corvette Takeover" here in NJ and have about the same number of Vettes turn out as you did. I asked about tech inspection in that I've attended Free State Corvette Club's annual "Drive on the Boardwalk" in Delaware, and they have tech inspection, and we don't go faster that 15 mph, but it's on a 3.2-mile-long board walk and they don't want any "leakers." to drive on it which is understandable. This event gets anywhere from 500 to 700+ Vettes to turn out. And it's rain or shine. All the Vettes stage in a tremendous parking lot hours ahead of the start time. Not all the cars staged go for the drive, so there are maybe as many as a thousand Vettes parked for three hours. It's like attending the biggest Cruise Night one could ever imagine and you not only see some unbelievable Vettes, but meeting the owners is incredible and listening to their back-stories is amazing. Some travel a thousand miles to attend this event and some travel with small dogs as well. If you get tired of looking at the Vettes and the Vendors, there is the board walk to discover and feel like a kid again with shooting galleries to win a stuffed animal or some sort of prize and a movie theater and loads of eateries to explore. To kill time one year the 6 other members I travel with and myself took a ride off the beach about a quarter of a mile off the beach in a PT Boat. A souped-up PT boat as well. Not that was one helluva ride. Well, I see I'm now like the Mississippi River and running at the mouth, so The Man of Few Words is out. Save the Wave. 🙋‍♂

What do you think the back straightaway top speed was? The reason I asked is because I was watching a few Corvettes moving along at a pretty good clip in front of the grandstands.

I think we could get up to 140 or so on the back and maybe 125-130 on the front. But of course, we weren’t aloud to go fast out there. Some were going faster than the rules said we could go.

yeah...but the Plaid kicked the C8, the C8 is a beautiful and elegant. GM should've done this YEARS ago, now may be a little too late.

The plaid beats most $500k cars but I still wouldn’t want one. I would much rather own my amazing C8 with an ICE engine!

@@BrinkofSpeed VERY TRUE. However, you know when you add up the options it'll not be much cheaper than the Plaid. I love the C8. I've always loved the Corvettes as a child and as an adult. It's just a real shame GM didn't do this much earlier. They, American automobile manufacturers, were alway lacking in imagination. They had the know how, but lack the vision and let the Europeans and Japanese eat away at their customer base also let them build the "QUALITY" and "TECHNOLOGICAL" image. Our corporate leaders let us all down.
