Thankyou for demonstrating this unusually shaped shawl, so beautiful. I will be working up my skills for this pattern, I am just learning brioche increase and decreases, working on a Brioche scarf now, will check back in to this tutorial when I am ready for next level, shaped garment. 🥰

Hello! So excited to see you have posted yet another gorgeous project. I just love your patterns. I have completed your “Fall Leaves” scarf and am currently working on your “Frozen Forest Shawl. So glad they both have the br4st dec as that is my favorite stitch you have shown me.😃 Can’t wait to delve into this beautiful “Foliage Shawl.” By the way you have the best knitting tutorials, ever! Thank you for the Free patterns! You are so generous! Have a very Mary Christmas🥰

Absolutely love all your patterns, it's the best I've seen anywhere! I was always too scared of brioche and after seeing all your gorgeous brioche knitting patterns I just HAVE to give it a go! This shawl has particularly caught my attention, I've never knit anything for myself, always for my husband and kids. But I'm wondering, could this pattern be used to make a poncho? Will you be doing any poncho patterns in the near future? I really hope so. 🥰🥰
@HappyKnitter3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! If you try brioche, you will love it!!♥️💖💝 I don't have a poncho pattern. Now that you mentioned it I could imagine how it would work transforming my Shawl patterns into poncho patterns. It's a good idea. I will keep it in mind for my future designs.

@@HappyKnitter oh my goodness, I really hope so! You've made me so happy by saying there's a chance you might do a poncho! Eeeeekkkkkk!!! I'm so excited that I'm already looking at yarns! Found some beautiful fyberspates yarn. Thanks again, your a lovely sweet,sweet person 🥰🥰🥰🥰

@@misssimmi2 I think you got me wrong. I didn't mean that my next design will be a poncho. Someday in the future maybe I'll do it🤞.That's what I really meant. Sorry.

Sorry to bother you again but I wanted to ask about rows 197-228. When do you repeat these rows if you want to make the shawl bigger? Is it after you finish row 228 and then go back to row 197? Sorry, I'm not an experienced knitter and this will be my first brioche project and I want to make sure I get it right. I'm already a bit scared as I'm terrified of charts and only use written patterns, but I couldn't find a written version of this pattern. Many thanks 😊
@HappyKnitter3 жыл бұрын
You can download the written pattern on this page: www.happyknitter.club/2019/12/foliage-shawl.html. I hope it will answer your questions. I wouldn't recommend this particular shawl for a beginner. It's your choice, but if you would like maybe to build a little bit of confidence in brioche knitting you can try some other shawl that is easier to read i.e. tulips shawl or frozen forest shawl (www.happyknitter.club/search/label/brioche%20shawl) or even easier - a brioche scarf. The foliage shawl here has many charts and a complex technique. But if you want to give it a go - Happy Knitting!!

@@HappyKnitter thank you for all your wonderful tips. Your right, I'm going to try one of your hats or scarf first and once I'm a little more familiar with brioche knitting, I'll start the foliage shawl xx

Hello Teacher☺️ I was wondering what you mean in “Yarn” section 1,5 for each color. Does it very with size of garment? May I ask how many skeins did you use and the amount of yardage per color. Thank you.☺️Have a wonderful day.
@HappyKnitter4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Guadalupe! 1.5 means 1.5 skeins of each color yarn. The Rockshelter Sock is 400 yds in one skein so you need 600 yds of yarn in each color if you want to knit the bigger size shawl with 10 Foliage panels. If you knit only 8 or 9 foliage panels you will need less yarn, but still I don't think one skein in each color would be enough.
@guadalupecampillo91354 жыл бұрын
Ok, Thank you, that makes sense. The more I watch the video and follow along with the chart, the more I’m getting it. Then I can choose my yarn and get started.🥳

Hello🙋🏻♀️ I can’t read the chart for the Foliage shawl it is very small print. I have tried to enlarge but it gets too blurry to read. I am sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you can enlarge it like your “Fall Leaves” pattern? Thank you for your time.☺️
