BRISBANE RIVER BREAM | landbased fishing during the rain

What to do after a massive downpour of rain? I decided to head out to the local city rockwalls and ferry terminals to see if I could hook into some resident fish - and they did not dissapoint! Part 2 of this episode will be coming out shortly, it is one you wont want to miss!

Great urban fishing. What tides do you have the most success with in the Brisbane river, last couple hours of the incoming?

It varies depending on what species and area you are targeting! At the bottom of the tide rock bars and majority of the spots near the mouth of the river will generally be good, whilst tops of the tides will be good in the upper reaches and shallows! This particular session was the last hour of the run in and first hour of the run out 👍 I find this tide change the best for crankbaiting bream

10 mins from home base so will give this location a go after the flood water drops. What rig are you using and crankbait type?

If that was me fishing I'd be getting snagged on the rocks a helluva lot. Wots your technique to avoid getting caught up on the rocks? Cheers JM

With a crankbait just a steady roll and no movements of the rod tip keep the bib bumping into the rocks and the like. Some floating crankbaits you can use which when you hit a snag you can stop the retrieve and it will float up! Any little plastics you have a good chance of getting snagged and I snagged the soft prawn a couple of times!

Read the previous comments as I’ve told people where to look on google maps! But honestly any ferry terminal with some rock bars along the shore will hold good numbers of bream at the right tide
