It would be hard to find a better way to spend a few hours than a cruise along the beautiful Brisbane River. Include a 300gm steak and baked potato at the iconic Breakfast Creek Hotel, and it is close to perfect!
Pauline and I were given tickets for Christmas by our daughter, and we couldn't wait to use them.
Boarding starts at 10.15 am at the Brisbane Cultural Center Pontoon. Parking at the Cultural Center is $17 for the day - very reasonable for city parking.
River City Cruises arrange a great day on the MV Neptune. A welcome morning tea not long after we started. Fresh scones, jam and cream with very nice coffee and tea. 45 minutes later, we got off at Newstead Park for the 400 mtr walk to the Breakfast Creek Hotel for the inclusive lunch.
No surprise that most people elected to have the Breakfast Creek Hotels' signature dish of a magnificent 300gm steak served with a baked potato with bacon and some fresh homemade slaw.
After a very filling meal and a couple of refreshments, it is time for the walk back to the Newstead Pier for a 1pm sharp pickup by the MV Neptune. Another 45 minutes relaxing cruise with very informative commentary before ended at 2pm (ish).
We thoroughly enjoyed our Brisbane River Cruise with included lunch and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
