Thanks John, Another good video. Brings back some old memories when I was test driving my repairs at CMS Whitehaven Depot.(in early to mid 1970's)

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Kudos to the driver, and all involved.

thisiszaphodbeeblebr How nice of you to say, thank you! As I mentioned below, I last drove Lodekkas in 1979/80 and I had no 'practice run' before this and the other video posted with it. Best wishes.

thank you, the driver was me (filmed by a lady for me). Very nice of Nigel and Alex from IoW and Derek Priddle, who owns the bus, to make it possible.

Nicely driven old son! I thought the route was vaguely familiar. I used to drive these out of Basildon garage in the early 1970's. You know you'd done a days work after driving these brutes for a day! Stick shift and no power steering!

thank you most kindly. Stick shift and crash gearbox.

@@leighnassau1158 Every gear change! and 5th gear on the "wrong" side of neutral. You had to go through 4th gear to get to neutral!

Remember the great sound of going to & from school on a Bristol Lodekka (Lincolnshire Roadcar)Who is the driver? Very professional

That's a kind comment. I am the driver in the video - I first drove Lodekkas in 1978 and I hadn't driven one for many years before the kind opportunity to drive this one.

you got the double declutching right first time, I could hear the squeaky clutch pedal!

to me,these look like a bus,& it was a pleasure to be on one,the new buses that are out now, well they do the job,but thats about it,they don,t even look like a bus, just horrible,i would leave the car at home if they still used these.

Top class driver. Unusually quick upchanges, too. On sister SV 573 they are MUCH slower! Maybe 570 is a very rare example of a Lodekka with a functioning clutch stop!

***** Thank you John, very kind of you to say, especially as I last drove Lodekkas in the summers of 1979 and 1980 and that's a year or two ago now. Yes 570 has a functioning clutch stop, something Eastern National Bristols I drove didn't have. Best wishes!

Thank you kindly - I was the driver! Yes, working clutch stop which was sweet. I hadn't driven a Lodekka since 1979, so as this was 2015, I don't think I did too badly.

@John G. Lidstone Finding someone who knows what a clutch stop is hard these days. The TD4 in our museums' clutch stop is wore out threw lack of understanding.....
