7:30 Because it's not about the dish but how it's made. People might still want to eat their favourite dish but not a dead animal. It's as simple as that. Concerning veganism in general, the reasons why you might have some negative feelings is that you'll get a few overenthusiastic nutjobs who are very vocal and not necessarily reasonable who get (or got) to be the first vegans a lot of people heard of and now that impression is etched into everyone's mind. Most vegans (and vegetarians) in Germany you'll never know to be vegans or vegetarians because we don't really talk about it. It's whatever. The more common experience for us is us trying to order something vegan and someone else (not unlikely someone who hunts) will feel the need to start a discussion. That being said, no one has really made a thing out of it one way or another that I could see in almost a decade. Makes sense with a slight majority of adults under 30 (as of 2020) being vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian. Now it's just a normal thing some people do and no one cares much (that I can see). And things aren't just bad because they're "chemically made" (that expression means nothing). Chemistry is involved anyways. Now could something be more or less healthy based on the way it's produced? Sure. But just the fact that it was produced in a factory doesn't mean anything. Not all additives are automatically unhealthy. Just saying, the reasoning behind your opinion is an example of the naturalistic fallacy. Seitan is made from flour, water and spices. Tofu and soy milk are made by fermenting soy beans (like cheese and yogurt are made by fermenting milk). In the end, it's about specific ingredients and nutrients. If they're fine, you're fine. Why wouldn't you be? It's like with energy drinks. Everyone says they're unhealthy because they're artificial but that's an insult to scientific reasoning. There are ingredients in energy drinks that can be unhealthy. They're called sugar and caffeine. But it's not the vitamins or some fruit extract or acid to alter the taste that makes it unhealthy. Drink a similar amount of coffee with enough sugar and it'll be more or less the same thing. That's my whole rambling point ^^ No offense meant at all, just saying.

Where dogs are concerned, you obviously have Goldies but you should check out the Hovawart which can look similar. Dog tax isn't simply used as a source of income by the council. In my area it's used to actually have specific dog walking areas. Also in many places you have dispensers scattered around for "pooh bags" so there is no excuse why you cannot clean up after your dog. These are not just restricted to dog play areas but you can see them in say a high street. If traveling with a dog or living in Germany, you need to check individual "State" rules about dogs as different areas in Germany have different rules especially if you have something which may be considered a "dangerous breed". Many states have compulsory dog liability insurance as something else to be aware of. Lower Saxony actually has a proof of competence for being a dog owner regardless of breed. You are probably too young to remember milk floats but we used to have "pfand" system in the UK for many glass bottles.

Boy, I like your content, but we might have beef (pun intended) over the vegan comments. Because veganism is not a diet but a moral and ethical driven lifestyle. I'm vegan for about five years now and before than have been not for over 20. The reason I sometimes want substitue products, is nostalgia or a craving. I grew up on a very meat heavy diet and if I want to have my great-grandmas recipe of dumplings to remember her I'm going to use the vegan meat replacement as part of the filling. Personally I love plant based cheese - and I eat it regulary on bread. A thing I had not done with dairy based cheeses my entire life. Sometimes I smell grilled chicken and I want to puke it's so disgusting, other times it triggers nostalgia and I get hungry for it. The target audience for those kind of foods frequently is people who are not vegan, but want to cut back on meat for "health" reasons. And while some plant based alternatives can be healthier than their animal counterpart, it's not true for all. Some contain "chemicals" - needless to say, everything is chemicals - but that's far from generally true. My faviorite vegan cheese has but a few ingreedients: water, coconutoil, starch, seasalt, oliveoil, natural aroma and carotin - the red dye one gets from carrots. So don't at me for liking my "chemical" mass produced vegan cheese when dairy cheese naturally contains a protein by the name of casein that has addictive effects similiar to drugs. Every meal not containing animal products reduces the demand for animal farming - something that in comparison to a plant based diet will come out as having a bigger impact on the environment; be it C02 and other greenhous gas emissions or water usage. Those are just facts. I can't and won't force anyone to life by them, but I won't let missinformation stand uncommented. (pun intended)

Hi darling, in Germany this shitty dog tax is part of an ancient tax called luxury tax. It can be a few hundred euros a year, completely arbitrary and different, as every municipality, every city taxes differently, but the second dog is already more expensive than the first, and should you dare to allow yourself the luxury of three dogs, then the third will cost the most. Now, with common sense, you would think that these millions of euros would be used FOR animals, for animal shelters, for animal welfare, for setting up poo bag dispensers, but no. Germany uses this imperial luxury tax to repair the roof of the town hall, for example. Or for the restoration of the fountain on the market square... The poo bag dispensers are mostly financed by private donors (I don't know who organises and pays for filling the bags). But there is no horse tax, no cat tax, no crocodile or snake tax, only and exclusively dog tax. And for the most part, animals don't benefit at all. In short: it sucks! Especially when you consider how important dogs are for the mental and physical health of their owners (so they OUGHT to have their medical care paid for by the owners' health insurance companies, but no...). What do you think about this now? Hugs and kisses from Cologne

I don't understand why people would even compare vegan processed food to non-vegan processed food and then complain about it. If you expect vegans to stick with unprocessed fruits and vegetables only you should also expect carnists to only eat whole "unprocessed" animals whenever they consume meat. It's contradictory to me if people insist on eating animals but choose products that don't look like animals at all. (Highly) processed food usually does neither look like a part of a plant nor a part of an animal and most of the time you can't even tell what it's made of just by its taste. There's no "naturally grown" shape left anyway so there are also no "naturally defined" ingredients to expect. Some people like sausages made out of pork, other prefer beef or some kind of poultry and others like plant-based ingredients. In a way all is the same "fake" because they are all "artificially" ground, mixed, flavored and shaped. You can argue about processed food in general, but being fine with processed animals on the one hand while raging about processed vegan food on the other hand doesn't make sense.

I'm also an atheist, but i believe in those 10, or were there 15 😅, commandments. Especialy the one "You shall not murder". It don't means 'humans'. It means you shall not kill any living creatures. That's the meaning of 'Vegan'. Netherless, even without a proof i'm quite sure vegans are healthier. But the biggest bullshit i hear over and over again is still, '"Like drinkin water we humans must eat meat to stay alive." 😅 Btw. i knew that many cities/countries in Asia wouldn't be near at the top of the 'Dog List'. And that the UK for sure didn't beat Germany. Just by the fact that you trained your dogs to kill, and abuse them for your disgusting 'Tradition'. The absolute brutal and evil 'Cruelty of the Fox Hunt'. More examples of 'The UK and their Animal 'Love'.? Horses. Like those you use for the Fox Hunt. And think bout the cruelty and the pain Horses have to go thru, just for such a stupid idea to abuse them as 'Horse Guards of the Queen'. Come on, i have one more. The awful horror of 'Royal Ascot'. Horse Race Cruelty for the entertainment and for Humans greed for Money. Over 1000 horses die every year in the UK. These poor animals were forced to begin rating when they're barely more than babies. Yeah, i know..i drifted away a bit. Just a bit talkin fact's. And it's your fault. Knowing to have lot of German subcriber and asking: "What is your opinion bout it ? Tell me in your comments." And you know it, right, that as a german i always give my honest opinion straight away and right into your face." 😊😂

You are so right! I don't need Substitut es, Nor do I know any other vegetaeians/vegans who eat them on a regular basis. I buy them for my children so they don't miss out in barbecues etc.., other people I know buy them when they have non-vegetarian guests who are not tolerant enough to eat "only vegetables" and would complain about "not bei g served anything to eat" if they did not get something that looked like meat. On the other hand, I don't know why I should make a point of never cooking anything in a shape that resembles a meat product or why I should avoid spice blends that can also be used to season meat. I like to shape "oat balls" and fry them, they are crispy and taste great with ketchup. You could say I was imitating meat balls (because the result looks similar), but in fact I am just frying oats in a way to make them crispy and savory.

@@LettersFromAFriend Thank you for your great feedback. If there were the possibility, I would visit you today in no time. And that's just because I've become totally curious about your "oat balls" , They are certainly delicate as you described them , hihi.
