So first of all, the handball happened in the 89th minute. Not only was the VAR review five minutes that went to the 94th minute, but during VAR review a fan ran onto the field causing a delay. He started running up to players taking selfies with them and it took security ages to tackle him and handle it. Because of that it added extra minutes to +6 that was originally allowed, and Nashville scored the tying goal at 90+9. That fan causing a delay litterally kept Nashville alive and saved them. Then during penalties, after the penalty save all the club america fans stormed the field and rushed the club america players in excitement. That stretcher you saw roll by in the video was a security guard injured pretty seriously trying to hold back the club america fans. It took them fifteen minutes to clear the field and announce the VAR decision before they could retake the penalty. Many fans had already left the stadium because of the mess on the field and VAR never announced they were reviewing it until 10MIN after it happened when they were starting to finally clear the field of the Club America fans. Just crazy.

because referee decision-making has extremely favored mls teams. In this America vs Nashville match alone, there were a few handballs that were not even looked at/ brushed off by the referee earlier in the game (in addition to a few offside calls that on the replays were clearly onside). The one that was eventually ruled a penalty, the referee looked at it for like 8 minutes, almost as if looking for a reason not to call this otherwise obvious handball in the box. Then, even though the goalkeeper was indeed off his line, the referee blowed his whistle. In any serious tournament, that would have ended the match. Fans and players alike had began to leave the premises when he overturned his decision 10 minutes later. How did VAR or the referees on the pitch, next to goal, not notice immediately after?!

LigaMX fans need to realize that the days of clobbering MLS teams all the time are long gone. MLS has caught up, and will soon surpass LigaMX. USMNT already surpassed the Mexican team. These leagues cup highlights don’t do the game justice. First half Nashville should’ve had another pen against them for a hand ball in their box but it wasn’t called. In the Pk shootout Club America got a pk saved but the keeper was off his line but Var didn’t bother checking. Not to mention the 4 minutes played after the 5 that where suppose to be added. Even with the pen review shouldve only been played till the 97th. As a diehard Club America fan, my eyes bleed watching this. The refereeing felt like a shadow over us, not only in this game but throughout the competition on all liga MX teams. Can't help but notice how the scales tilt toward the MLS teams. This Leagues Cup? More like a stage set for the American teams and Messi's spotlight xDD!!! . If the intention was just to celebrate MLS victories, why bring our Liga MX passion to the dance? And about that final call - if we're nitpicking, let's review every keeper's positioning on every save... I sincerely hope this serves as a lesson for all Liga MX teams. This is an outrage This tournament, with all its promise, feels like an echo of what it could've been. Disappointed....
