Brit Reacts to Germany's Fritz Cola - Better Than Coke?!

Ordinary filter coffee has a caffeine content of about 64 to 96 mg/100 ml. Fritz-Kola has a caffeine content of 25 mg caffeine per 100 ml. Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola have 10 mg/100 ml. Fritz-Kola also has a distinct lemon flavor and uses less sugar than Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola. There is also Fritz-Kola with orange or Kola sugar-free. Fritz-Kola also offers other lemonades: apple-cherry-elderberry, honey-melon, lemon or organic rhubarb juice.

I highy doubt his Coca-Cola is "from America". Coca-Cola in the US tastes way worse than Coco-Cola in Austria or Germany. Fritz-Kola is way superior to both btw.

As far as I'm aware, they actually started fritz-kola to explicitly rival Coca-Cola, because they didn't like the monopolisation of a drink by one big company. They even got sued by Coca-Cola, because on one of their early advertisement posters, it just showed someone pouring out a Coke can, lol. The company also takes public political stances somewhat frequently and sponsors music events, solidifying themselves as one of _the_ staple student drinks.

Currently there are 4 Fritz-Kola variants available : Fritz-Kola, Zero, Light and Bio. They all taste pretty distinct from each other and due to their high caffeine content are pretty popular with students in particular. While not a student anymore it certainly is my cola of choice when there are options. Also: If you are in a restaurant picking the Fritz-versions of a particular drink instead of the coca/pepsi option is usually better for the business as Fritz offers better margins in their business deals than their big counterparts.

Fritz Kola is just one German brand of over 700 German cola brands. In Germany, lemonade and cola are also produced in many regional beer breweries, especially in southern Germany. check on Google Pictures german Cola and cola-Orange mix (invented in Germany)

Yes its much better, but its also offesively expensive. But i dont drink a lot of softdrinks so its nice to treat yourself once in a while. Edit: Looked up market value right now its 73 million in revenue so not that small but not huge either.

Fritz Cola is still sweet enough and tastes great! Getting older I'm trying to spend money at small, sustainable businesses, local and in Germany. Reishunger for rice, Zotter in Austria for chocolates and small companies like Fritz-Cola for sodas. I'm done supporting the large multi-nationals that steal people's groundwater in poorer countries.

For me I do prefer two germany colas to the original or pepsie. Those would be Fritz Kola and Vita Cola (that was created in the eastern parts during the GDR times)

If we are talking about smaller cola brands i would throw "tirola kola" into the ring. Drank it for the first time in austria at holiday and it tasted pretty nice. They added regional tastes like pinus cembra (swiss pine) into it. Really worth a try also for all germans

There are many Coca-Cola brands in Germany today. For me, Fritz-Kola tastes better than Coca Cola and is available in every supermarket here. Fritz-Kola is more intense, of better quality with a hint of lemon. My absolute favorite! By the way that taste-test was absolutly weird. I've never heard anyone say that Fritz-Kola has less taste. Exactly the opposite is the case.

Hey Dwayne, if you visit germany I'd recommend another cola brand (next to fritz cola) for your tastebuds. Go have a look for Vita-Cola (original - with a red label). It adds in a little more citrus, but is very well balanced and tasty. Get together with a few friends and have a sip. have a nice time over. :)

Fritz-Kola taste really good. Fritz-Kola and Afri Cola are my favorites. To me, Coca Cola tastes sweeter and has a different aftertaste that I can't exactly define, but I think it's different than Fritz-Kola and Afri Cola.

The student company Fritz-Kola, which started in 2003 with 7,000 euros in capital, has long since grown into a medium-sized company. It employs 320 "Fritzens", as the employees are called internally, throughout Europe. Fritz not has as many chemicals as Coke and RedBull - it is much milder than other colas (maybe caused by the beet sugar they used) --- especially the organic (bio) variant of Fritz tastes less artificial than many colas (I can't stand "zero" sodas, since when it contains aspartam or other sweeteners I only taste the chemical plastic taste, nothing else)

Interessting fact about cola: There is one brand, that does not sell a license to filling companies. "Licence" meaning in this case: The syrup is filled with local water into cans/bottles etc. (All other brands do it like this. E.g. Fritz-Cola is produced/filled at 5 different factorys around germany alone. Coca-Cola and Pepsi of course fill it in nearly every country.) But there is Red Bull Cola (Called 'simply cola') Every can you buy, not matter were in the world, is filled in the alpes. There are 2 factorys. One at the main company location near to Salzburg/Austria and one in Switzerland. They don't sell a licence, dont ship syrup... They ship the complete product (Syrup + alpes-water in cans) around the world. Another fact: Red Bull 'simply cola' has a long list of ingredients on the product. Every cola could, but most products only lists something like 'water, sugar, flavors, coffein'. Red Bull includes all ingredients, mainly for beeing unique. But one can get a sense which spices are used in every cola: Lemon, ginger, lime, vanilla, liquorice, galangal, cinnamon, kola nut, cocoa, orange, coca-leaf, cardamom, mint, pine, nutmeg, clove. And yes: It includes coca-leaf, which is a legal food additive, beside the fact, that it is used to produce/extract cocaine.

Well, I like the taste of fritzkola very much. But because it's more expensive, I often take the cheaper mio cola. If you are tired and have no chance to rest, fritzkola can't be beatenand is the best choice.

I drink Fritz Kola since it was founded. It is not a thing outside of germany and it is also not even a thing across whole germany. Usually it is available in the north I decided to try it because the amount of caffein, which is quite high and I think it is at the limit of caffein for soft drinks. To me it is the best Kola available! To me it is the best Kola available in germany although there are quite a lot different inds of Kola are available in germany. Also other brands like fever tree / mio mio started their own kolas.

Comparing fritz cola to Coca Cola is like comparing american beer to german or british beer. With Fritzcola it is just very important that it is cold, when it gets to room temperature it's not that good. Thats probably why that guy in the test didn't like it that much. Also he drank one coke after the other without neutralizing the taste of the previous one with water.

I prefer fritz, many Bars sell it because it's more Environment-frindly in the production than coca. If I would compare it the closest thing would be afri Cola, but it's still different. All different flavors of fritz are great, you can't Go wrong and many can be mixed quiet well with gin or wodka, another point why bars for or by students love it

I don't know if someone mentioned it before but there's another Cola from Germany with a cult following. It's called "Afri Cola" and it's originally from the late 60s - made famous by a very, VERY controversial ad campaign. It was relaunched quite successfully a couple of years before Fritz came along. Personally, I think Afri and Fritz both taste much better than Coke or Pepsi. You should really put both on your bucket list. BTW: I actually hate RedBull Cola and I don't know anyone who likes it either. I actually think it's revolting. Sincerely. 🤷‍♂ Honorable mention: Another "underdog" Cola recommendation is "Breizh Cola" from Brittany in France (Breizh is actually the name of Brittany in their ancient local celtic language). Not only do I love the taste of it but I think that brand even managed to outsell Coca Cola in the area where it's produced and sold (they are strictly regional - meaning that you usually won't even be able to get it in other regions of France - but you can buy it online). In Germany there are a couple Cola brands in competition to coke. apart from Fritz-Cola you'll also find Afri Cola, which has been around since the Weimar Republic (1931) quite compareble to Fritz Vita Cola is local to Berlin Brandenburg and has citric acid instead of phosphoric acid as ingredient, which gives it a very lemony flavor. Then theres also Sinalco which is quite *liked* in eastern Germany (can't tell you about the taste; yet) All of them are less sweet than Coke or Pepsi which is one of the main reason people like them. I quite like Fritz and think it is quite close to Afri in taste, but i personaly prefer Vita Cola. In any case Fritz has very good marketing, and managed to place itself in a lot of clubs / bars / restaurants as a Coke alternative.

if you eat an sugar cube and than bite in an apple you will always say it tastes aweful cause you hyperactivated your sweet sense and everything afterwards will taste different, you have to clear your taste after every sample to have a respective opinion ... like in these taste jurys where they don't drink, only taste ans spit out and afterwards reset with water or whatever before the new test

Fritz Cola tastes amazing honestly ❤ it's less sweet for sure and therefore more refreshing IMHO. About the caffeine content: most consumers know about the higher levels of caffeine and it even says it on the bottle (even though it's not anywhere near the amount of caffeine as coffee for example). The people I'm around also don't give any kind of Cola to children, so personally I find it perfectly reasonable 😊

Well, Fritz-kola is alright. But tbh, I prefer normal Coke. Fritz is too weak in taste imho, not enough Cola Aroma. And nowadays I only buy Coke Zero. Classic coke somehow leaves a weird aftertaste imho. Your mouth feels like it's somehow has a film in it that makes your mouth feel unclean somehow and you want to rinse your mouth with water. Fritz has some very nice Lemonades & Schorles though. Better than what you can get from Coca Cola for example. Especially Anjola is fantastic. Best lemonade on the market for my taste. So the best Fritz product imho is one that they bought (originall Anjola was made by a small brewery in East Frisia, but was discontinued, fritz bought the brand and brought it back).

Fritz Cola is shit! Usally they have exklusive contracts that you can only sell Fritz drinks. So many small Bars,cinemas and Restaurant 's who only offer Fritz produkts loose customer. And for those small Businesses the Drinks make the most Money.

Personally, I'm not a big Cola fan, but Fritz Cola tastes no worse than Coke. Since I support German companies as much as possible, it's not Coke that comes to my house, but Fritz. To claim that Fritz is weaker in taste I think is a rumor Nevertheless, naturally cloudy Apfelschorle (apple spritzer) remains my favorite drink.
