There was a show on one of the science channels years ago about "nature or nurture". One Psychologist was doing brain scans on serial killers. His brain scan matched the criminals.He freaked, of course, re-ran everything and got the same result every time. At a "close friends party", he was talking about his brain scan data and his friends told him: "We've always known you were a psychopath. You are stupid competitive, have to be the winner in any argument, freak-out about any disruption in plans you make, etc. You're mostly harmless so we just say, that's him." This to the PhD conducting the study.

I’ve read psychology journals where they say that CEOs and politicians have many traits of sociopaths and it’s almost the luck of the draw and/or nurture that determines if they will go that route vs becoming a murderer. I definitely see that
@JIMBEARRI4 күн бұрын
Nature or Nurture ? That is one of life's unanswerable questions right up there with : "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" The best answer I ever heard was that there had to be some factor that pre-disposed a person to sociopathic behavior, but in order to emerge, it had to be triggered by some adverse experience in life.

My brother was murdered bc of jealousy by one of his good friends after he started doing really well at the job his friend helped him get! The man who killed him had been married for years & had 2 kids! We found out later that he pulled a gun in someone the day before. I think rare occasions it’s jealousy or selfishness but a lot is mental illness - I think.

People think that if you are deemed insane and sent to a hospital that the person is "getting off" from punishment. This is not true. Those hospitals are a very scary place to be. They are dangerous and you see things that really will affect you.

That last guy with the eye patch. I remember that incident. He shot and killed a Black female police sergeant who had stopped at Walmart to buy groceries for her family's dinner on her way home from work. When he was finally trapped by the police, all of the White cops turned their backs and walked away. The black cops best him so badly that he lost his left eye. Funny, there was no mention of "Police Brutality".

“What makes a person…” Hate. Hate makes a person capable of anything. Hate clouds thought and vision. Hate makes us remorseless. The sad truth is with enough hate and anger any one of us could become just like any one of these people. It’s a scary thought to explore, but at the end of the day it’s a very sad truth.
@アキコ20032 күн бұрын
Hate, but also lust and greed, as serial killer psychopaths for example, feel no hate. They mostly base it on lust, personal enjoyance and rarely but sometimes greed, greed for attention, greed for fame of for power such as cult leaders

ADX Florence, is a "Supermax" facility that is like no other ever built, the reason WHY it is so difficult, to escape, is because there is absolutely NO WAY that anyone can ever dig their way out, and accomplices on the outside can not tunnel their way in, the facility itself is placed in the center of a NATURAL 4 mile by four mile granite slab that is over 200 feet thick, just mapping out the footprint and installing the utilities which HAD to be done BEFORE they started constructing the buildings, as plumbing, electrical, sewer, and communications security were details that were all attended to FIRST, and embedded in the granite, and unfortunately can not be repaired, so extra care and durability was required to ensure a 100 year useability of the facility, they KNEW that the worst of the worst were going to be incarcerated there, and they spared no expense to make it absolutely as escape proof as can humanly be done, even going so far as to select the actual location using a natural feature to prevent one avenue of possible escape.

Anybody is capable of killing someone. But, the majority of people would be severely devastated by it even if it was in defense of your life. But others don't have any feelings. I do believe evil is real. Good is real and evil is real. There are some who are more evil than others.

He didn't commit the crime in Colorado. He did it in North Carolina. No prison in NC wanted to house him after that, so he was turned over to the federal system for safety concerns. Also, other inmates in that prison have already been put to death.

I believe all criminals in prison are mentally ill. And let be known that there is a huge difference between jail and prison under US law. Prison is for the convicted and jail is for those still awaiting trial. There are also a few other differences, but the main differences are listed above.
