In some cities there are leash laws. But there is also an exception for service animals as some of their tasks they are trained for are impossible to perform while leashed. My service dog has several tasks related to my disability that a leash prevents her from performing. My dog is under verbal control at all times and doesn't go farther than 6 feet from me in public. I have had several discussions with officers in multiple cities about my service animal and that the normal laws applicable to dogs do not apply as my dog is a piece of medical equipment and that I can take her anywhere because of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I had an officer in New York City cite me for not having my 65 lb dog in a bag as they are not allowed on the subway outside of a bag. By the time I was done with him in the court system the ticket was thrown out and he was suspended for 30 days without pay. He also had to spend 40 hours working with a trainer of service dogs.

I dont believe that at all. You do not mention what your disability is or the task your dog has to do that prevents it from being leashed. You leaving these things out is almost certainly intentional because there are very, very few tasks where this would apply and they are even more rare for someone whose disability is such that they have the mobility that allows them to take the subway. For the dog to not be required, you would not have the ability to unleash it to perform a task when it is required and you have made it clear in your comment that you do not have that kind of restriction. Who knows why you make these claims but they are bs.

What’s most surprising to me about the last video is that the owner never once tried to call the dog back. Either a setup video or the owner gives zero effs about their animal. I’d be frantically shouting for my dog to “COME!!” (Not that I’d let her off of a leash in a city environment anyway)

If I saw someone walking their dog with a leash, I wouldn’t approach them. How long will I be within their space? 10 seconds 15 seconds? Not enough time for me to stop them and complain to them about their dog. Unless the dog is vicious, I’m not saying anything. Yes animals are unpredictable but sore people. Is it worth getting yourself upset over a dog that you may not see again? Even if you see that person frequently walking the dog without a leash, what is it subtracting from your life? Somethings are not worth getting your panties in a bunch over.

Was just going to say this. I grew up with Golden’s and when I moved out I got a small dog, which made me more cautious. But where I live it’s unheard of to see a dog not on its leash that isn’t well-trained and not bothering anyone. I’m more cautious of them, sure, but I’m not wasting my time on an off-leash dog that isn’t bothering anyone. I’d personally never do it but I’m not gonna say anything if it’s minding it’s own business. Neither does anyone else- and I live in an area with strict leash laws that’s crawling with what I like to call “Silent Karen’s” AND normal Karen’s.

I didn't used to care if others didn't keep their dogs on a leash however a few weeks ago I watched one attack a child at a parade. Not only was that child hurt but all the other children and people in general can't ever unsee that. Thankfully he only needed a minor surgery but the dog was put down and all of it could have been avoided.

We’re seeing more of it because of the encouragement for people to not take responsibility for themselves now. Leash laws tend to be a city level issue, but I do agree that dogs should be kept on leash for safety of themselves and others.

I get that there are leash laws. I agree with the fact that the dog running with the “Karen” into the streets obviously shows that the dog should be on a leash. But… I absolutely do not condone that gesture of the “Karen” actually leading the dog out into traffic. Is the dog attacking you? No? Then call the cops to ticket the couple (which I wouldn’t do at first). I especially wouldn’t endanger the dog to make a point 😡. She was just being spiteful and hateful at that point. If that happened to me, and my dog got killed by a car, I really don’t know what I would do. The last one really upset me. 🤦🏽‍♀️

The dog should be on a leash but it did not approach her so she had no reason to interact with them at all. Call the police or animal control if you want but she has no authority to just walk up to strangers and start telling them they're breaking the law. The people with the dog were combative but not violent. Some people might get violent in that kind of situation, so it's just stupid to approach them just to prove you're right. If no one is being hurt, just mind your business. It's not worth the risk or headache. You cannot control other people's actions. I have been a waitress and a teacher and I have a trick, When people piss me off, I start singing Don't worry be happy in my head. 😊

In regards to the religious Karen, she was certainly in the wrong here and doesn't quite understand what the Bible says. However, most people misunderstand and misuse the verse quoted here "..judge not, lest you be judged". This verse in general is referring to your eternal judgement, as God is the only one who can judge whether you are going to heaven or hell. As Christians, in fact we are to correct other Christians when they are committing sin but it should be done in a loving and respectful way. For those who do not believe, we should not necessarily be correcting them but being good examples of our faith without pushing our beliefs on them and if they want to know more about what we believe, then share that with them and let them make their own decision.

I despise people who bring their dogs to a non-dog park and have them off-leash. Animals are always...animals. No matter how well trained, and loved, the human has to be in control of the dog at all times. I have a Staffie, and some people are afraid of his chunky silly self because of the breed. When I see off leash dogs, I may give a look or mumble under my breath, but I'd never go full Karen. One man picked up his little dog (off leash) and said, "your dog was looking at mine like it's dinner", I looked at his dog, laughed, and said, "maybe a snack". Some people walk 20 feet out when they see us coming, and we get glares, sometimes off leash dogs come up to my dog, and I have to make sure things go well....but no reason to go Karen..or Keith.
