Only later he realized the ship couldn't be safed because the portholes (windows) where left open and increased the flooding. Sadly if the portholes would have been closed the ship most likely wouldn't have sunk.

It has been pointed out that in the movie the ship was sunk by a German Spy acting as a Commander (Co-Captain) sunk the ship with a bottle that made a big explosion. In a lot of videos with Sleeping Sun about the Britannic they say it was a torpedo. What actually happened the first torpedo missed and another crew member shot the other one. So the only explainable reason is that a few miles ahead another U-Boat left a Mine. There has been quite a few historians that still believe it was a torpedo but that's not true. Now I am not completely sure but I am just going with what most historians said.

Despite the Allies denying it, later, multiple factors were found that justify the uboat attack on Lusitania, as they were carrying war supplies, making it a target. I would say that if they wanted to prosecute the uboat crew for this, they should also have prosecuted the responsibles from the allies side who decided to load a passenger ship with war material, knowing that it would be making everyone there a "meat shield". In the Britannic case, they struck a mine. while sinking an hospital ship would be a war crime, a sea mine would also be an exception, since you cant control which target a mine sinks. And it was a while ago since i last read on the matter, but if i remember correctly (someone feel free to correct me if im misrememberring), but it was kinda a surprise that a sea mine sank such ship. I believe that if certain factors were met (like having the watertigh doors closed as the proceedures demanded, for example) the ship could actually have survived (maybe)

Of course it's true. A 'simple' sea mine (as you put it) was designed to have a devastating effect on the structure of a ship, even a very large one like 'Britannic'. Don't fall into the trap of 'it looks small so can't be that dangerous to the big thing'.

Brittanic was actually the younger twin sister of Titanic which she died in world war 2 in the Atlantic Ocean by get hit by the german U-boat called "the silent hunter"

She was the sister to the Titanic, yes. But she was actually sunk by naval mine in the Aegean Sea near Kea during the First World War (21st November 1916). And being a HMHS (British hospital ship) she would not have had any form of weapons, not even for defence, and she would be carrying both allied and enemy troops to safety.

Well you can’t say that this was a time of peace. World war 1, there is a hospital ship curing the people who are battling other countries, so ofc those other countries would try to destroy the ship.
