My PB 🏃 time was 9.20 in 1985 aged 33 on my REME reserves recruit course on the individual best effort run for the old BFT. Dress was boots, lightweights and T 👚 shirt top on tarmac. The OC could run a BFT in 7.5 minutes and he would buy a 🍺 beer for whoever beat him to the line. Another notable BFT was on my PT leaders course (CCPR community sports leaders award) which took a minute longer as it was on grass with slippery wet corners in winter. I was certainly noticed by the staff in the swimming 🏊 pool by the method I used to pull in a lane rope ending with it already loosely coiled in my arms ready to hang it on its peg. Happy days.

@olliebennett78794 жыл бұрын
i’m not craig (obviously) but personally i recommended more outdoors than on a treadmill. A lot more fun and obviously all runs in the army are outdoors, fantastic splits though

Hi guys don’t know if anyone knows but I have my assessment centre in October was wondering if anyone knows if it’s still bleep test and how hard it is I’ve got my run down to 9:05 but averaging around 9:15 not bad cos I started off 11 minutes. I found best is to run 2/3 times a week I ran everyday 2km for about two months but I’m prone to injury lol and also got slower due to tiredness etc

Craig, the bleep test is the new Assessment Centre test. I need to get 7.2 to get in, I'm just brushing by 7.3, the bleep test is more sprints and is something I struggle more to compared to the 2km run. How can I improve my score, cheers

At the beginning of June I was getting level 4.9 and now I’m getting level 7.4 consistently. I’d just advise you to set yourself a target level and push yourself to achieve that level. I also do my beep test every other day and I’ve seen the most improvements doing it this way!

Hill sprints are so good to improve. I did a bunch nearly every day first thin in the morning about 5am or 6am for a week and did them to failure, even to the point of throwing up all my liquids I was drinking one time. wasn't doing any 2kms 1kms in between etc. then did a 2km the next week and it shaved a minute off my run time right off the bat (granted my initial runtime was around 11:30 so bare minimum!) but incorporating that into my training eventually lead to me getting a 9 min 2km runtime before I went to AC, nearly scraped an 8.0 on bleep test. Won't be turning any heads for the infantry or paras but for what I was going for I was better than some others who rocked up

The screen is touch screen, so that will save time rather than using the mouse. Also, you will be asked - River colder than lake, pond colder than river. Then underneath it will ask - Which ones is warmest? Read the question at the bottom first, then read the info above it, it makes it a lot easier.

I have been training with an ex 22 sas bloke who is one of my best mates. He's been out of regiment for around 3 years now. And one of his mates who's in paras. I thought I was quite fit, but jesus they are both unreal!! The para guy was way fitter than me, but the ex sas lad was running rings round him. We had 55lb bergens on and we was doing hill work on kinder scout (northern edge from the snake pass up to seal stones). Basically just straight to top then back down over and over again for 8 hours. I have never thrown up as much in my life from pure exhaustion 🤢 I got up and down 7 times. Para lad did it 11 times and sas lad got 15 or 16 times and was still in shape for battle after. Unreal level of fitness from both of them.

@kianmoran43494 жыл бұрын
If you don’t train the correct way then it’s hard, but hard work pays off aswell as watching thins like this on how to improve certain lacking areas, the runs the hardest but it’s better at selection as you are running with other people which eggs yourself on to get a better time than them for bragging rights

I didnt appeal because I didnt think it would work but its been in my mind litersly everyday since, if I applied again and actually appealed it, kept a 3 month training journal and got seen by my GP or another medical prof, what do you think my chanced are of gettig accepted? being in the military, Army or Marines, is all I want to do.
