This 105/37 mm Light field Gun is widely used by Indian Artillery, I am a EX EME Gun technician I attended Field Firing with 41Field Regiment of Indian Army in the year 2012 , If the Recoil system fails Then Gun cannot fire, Before firing we used to do artificial pull back, Passing GBBL L gauge from Muzzle end to breech end , Sight test for Gun panoramic sight, Record of Firing ,Repairs & Annual Technical inspections were got endorsed in the Gun History sheet, As per the British standard we follow Permissible repair schedule , which is published for the particular equipment by Technical Group ,life of Barrel is based on total No of EFCs Equivalent Full charge fired , & Wear of the gun measured at 1" C of R is considered. Wear of The gun barrel is directly related to Muzzle velocity & projectile trajectory . I was honoured for Making a Fire safety device to Indian version of 105/37mm LFG Light Field Gun. Easy to dismantle, It requires 1hr 30 min to dismantle & Reassemble main Gun Components , I successfully demonstrated how this Gun can be self loaded in a Field Artillery Truck with a small modifications done in vehicle winching mechanism. & portable ramp.

@@Kris155mm - I was never a Gunner (far too devilishly handsome to hang out with those shaved gorillas) but I did spend a Norway deployment attached to 29 Commando (as one of their RM Artic Warfare Instructors) and I had a cracking time both professionally and socially. Interesting video and well done the lads who got involved from 7RHA. Having joined the Royal Artillery as a Boy entrant at age 15 back in 1963 and served 26yrs in various ranks and many world locations culminating with 10yrs A Warrant Officer I completely understand the attitude of new entrants these days and how so much has changed. I truly believe with the tightening of all things Regimental from above a soldiers lot can be defined as certainly measured and challenging. On reflection I enjoyed my varied Career at different levels but, I'm afraid times have altered since my day and don't believe I would enlist in the much changed climate of today. Mind you chasing the £50k pa has to be an incentive. Oh and of course the endless sport competitions creating unbridled rivalry amongst Units has to be a winner.

Absolutely loved being on the steel. Life on the L118/119 in the RNZA was something “out there” with numerous brew, fry bread, cook ups and “crack ups”. Definitely find and make good comradery, quickly know your way in the battery where you fit I have experienced my time on the AS90 SP Gun whilst attached to 159 (Colenso) Bty in Bosnia. Fantastic 155mm gun, any one to be a crew member, you’re bloody lucky. Both guns to me is a 10/10 or a definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If the regiments are not undermanned you usually get a choice. Voluntary regiments like 7-29-4/73 you get the shit bust. Then it’s all depends on what quals you get from phase 2 which job role. But I’ve seen blokes and lasses that have guns quals and can’t hack it on the gunline and been sent to the bqms where life is buckshee.
