So essentially what Kemi is saying is that getting a British citizenship is damn too easy especially for people who came into the UK to do low-wage jobs. Listening to her further on GB News this morning , she actually means many people working in the health and social care sector or as we call it people doing "care jobs". She moaned that in a few years time, these people and their dependants who came to the UK would be eligible for ILR and citizenship. Now, hang in there. There are thousands and thousands of people illegally crossing the Channel Island into the UK who go on to start benefitting from public funds via hotel accommodation, feeding and hand-out as soon as they arrive. But Kemi is worried about people doing the critical job of looking after the vulnerable people in the society, paying their taxes and receiving no public funds. These people looked after the sick and old people during the COVID pandemic and were so that important the government she was part of made a special openings to let them come into the country to help. Kemi Badenoch feels that these are not "net contributors" to the UK and would be getting the British citizenship on the cheap after 6 years of working hard, paying taxes, renewing visas at high costs and not getting any benefit from government. I think this is an unpalatable comment towards hardworking people in the critical care sector which undermines their roles and diminishes their contributions during one of the world's most devasting pandemics.

They also don't get free access to the NHS - they pay an NHS health surcharge of £1,035 per year, in addition to extra prescription charges. The real issue lies with illegal immigrants, but she's focusing on the wrong target for publicity. The Tories, as a globalist party, strongly support initiatives like the Tier 1 visa program, which allows skilled professionals and entrepreneurs to settle in the UK in 2 to 3 years, helping make the country a leader in tech. Illegal people are a scourge but there aren't that many. Legal immigrants are in the millions and plenty have come on the wrong courses particularly from India or on fake degrees and bringing their dependents the past few years. I know there are many skilled workers from India and elsewhere but there is a lot of abuse in the system too. I've spoken to many Indian students who don't want to go back and disappear into the system. Many have lawyers who turn corners to get them citizenship. Other ways is sham marriages. This isn't about claiming benefits because thsts not an incentive. It's a small amount but the country doesn't have the infrastructure for more legal immigrants. We need to stop illegal immigration and only allow the very needy and also vet each legal immigrant from step 1

Yes we need skilled workers like doctors and nurses but there are many abusing the visa system and many came as dependents to students which was crazy. That's ended but many still come on courses not to learn but then to stay here for jobs that local workforce can do. I speak to many Indians who said they get citizenship through a special lawyer in london. There are many loopholes. Take a look around you. Within 5 years the indian population has changed a lot!!!

@ The Sino-British Joint Declaration was an agreement between the UK and China. Hong Kong people have never been asked and had a right to choose whether to leave the Commonwealth as a UK’s colony. All the nurses and Doctors in NHS would leave in their thousands... Many other professionals will leave. This is misplaced. Currently, foreign nationals are from outside of EU countries. They are NOT entitled to claim UK Benefits. (NO RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUNDS) It’s written on their UK legal residence permit. This UK immigration law has been there for many years. Many families, foreign nationals from the outside of EU countries, are on 10 years of legal residence in the UK already.

Now Tory, under Kemi Badenoch's leadership, tries to propose to introduce new measures with retrospective effects dated back to 2021 disallowing Hongkongers who have come to UK under BNO Visa bringing about working knowledge/expertise and wealth to apply for permanent citizenship one a 5+1 year arrangement as originally promised. It's a blatantly disastrous breach of both political and moral duties owed to Hongkongers if Kemi Badenoch's proposal is to be endorsed by anyone. The Tory's proposal apparently is a disgraceful attempt by Kemi Badenoch to use all legal immigrants as scapegoats for the mismanagement of illegal immigrant problem by Tory without really analysing actually what UK is needed for its development and prosperity.
