Folk horror is ABSOLUTELY my favorite horror genre/subgenre. Just absolutely the best, and when done right, it can be life changing. Hereditary and Midsommar being fantastic renditions of modernized versions of the same, yet I enjoy the "original" 60's/70's era horror the most, especially when set in the UK. For whatever reason, that just feels unsettling and spooky to me. Probably because I grew up watching it on late night "taboo" tv and cable channels when we were supposed to be in bed, lol!

I’ve literally just found City of The Dead and can’t wait to watch it. I’d watch Christopher Lee tap dancing in a rabbit suit, to be honest! His presence and charisma was phenomenal. This was so good to watch, and seeing your other videos, subbed! I especially appreciated the description of Hammer Films and omg yes, that godawful music from The Witches. I loved Eye of The Devil, Deborah Kerr and Sharon Tate are phenomenal….not sure I’d have liked it that much without them, though I’ve been watching all kinds of Folk Horror since I was 8, so, it’s pretty nostalgic for me. Great stuff!

I just subbed. I have loved folk horror since the bey. I am 60 and saw blood on Satan's claw when it came out.

Great video. All that's wanting, really, is a listing of the films discussed therein.

Really enjoyed your treatment of this subject more than others I have seen on YT. Folk Horror is really just Religious Horror for someone else. I do hope you can adjust your sound somehow. Your voice is quite soft and the films were quite loud.

Great video on one of my favorite sub-genres in horror. Looking forward to seeing your take on the Unholy Trinity.

Night of the Demon and City of the Dead are two of my favourite movies of all time. Night of the Eagle (was this also known as Burn Witch Burn or was BWB it's own thing?)

The Devil Rides Out is my hands down favorite Hammer film. Christopher Lee is a powerful man you want on your side to fight Charles Gray and his cult.

One of the most disconcerting aspects of modern ritual murders is the eagerness of local authorities to quietly cover them up.

actually witchcraft and wicca are 2 different things, and if im not mistaken the craft and charmed were witchcraft not wicca. wicca and wiccans is a religion. also paganism is also an umbrella term that is a nature based spirituality and wicca is just one of the many many nature based religions along with buddhism. yes what we know about paganism does come from the romans who were biased against pagans. also im so glad u corrected the facts on witch executions. in america is was all hangings with the exception of giles cory who was pressed to death. the burning were in primaily north west europe mainly france and england

Is there anyone who hasn't heard of the Salem witch trials? Fewer seem to have heard of the much earlier Lancashire witch trials in Pendle, which are just as interesting.
