American here so I don't get to see much racing. So many categories of racing I don't know about. This was great racing! I appreciate the announcers explaining things, excellent job.

We get all of these racing types in America... You just gotta pay attention..

There are two series of note in America for sports cars IMSA and SRO GT World Challenge America. IMSA was last weekend at Long Beach and GTWC was at Sonoma. Next is Laguna Seca and a new track Ozarks respectively. Plenty of other series as well. It’s nice to see these races from the UK as well at the old classic British venues.

Lifelong Motorsports fan also from America and I've been exposed to all forms of racing throughout my life, but this is by far the best racing going along with the start of this season of f1

I live not far from oulton park, i'm from the liverpool city region and this is my local circuit, it is alot more forgiving in real life but depends on your driving style & experience, but its so much more faster in real life

This track is epic in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Its narrow, bumpy, has nasty kerbs and no asphalt runoffs anywhere. Very unforgiving. I can only imagine how hard it would be in real life. Looks like so much fun!!!

What is more popular in Britain, the GT's or Touring Cars? I would think that the Touring cars have more history at the very least. As an American, I'm familiar with the drivers in Touring Cars as well.

It’s so dangerous and race ruining making faster cars be the ones dictating the overtakes of back markers, should be a case of under blue flags back markers cannot make passes on each other and have to make a good passage for faster cars on the next safe stretch of road
@W1CKED__2 жыл бұрын
no, its up to the faster cars to safely overtake.
@gamershadow12 жыл бұрын
The faster car dictates the overtake because they have more margin to work with and are generally more experienced. It also makes it easier if you know what to expect from the car in front instead of them trying to dive out of your way.
@toboshi2 жыл бұрын
Another very important point: making sure the slower cars are very predictable for the faster cars actually ends up being safer more often than not. Having the slower cars move out of the way sounds safer, but it's very hard to do that consistently without unfairly compromising their races. By giving the faster cars the onus overtaking, they know exactly what the slower cars going to do.
@Oscxr_-fq7nj2 жыл бұрын
@@W1CKED__ yeah and how did that work out? Ruined both front runners races bcos they had massive over speed on a group of slow cars getting in the way. Like in f1 u are always going to get some sort of disruption but they get out of the way when they can and surprise that works and it would do here too there is plenty of time for the back markers to race they should be made to safely follow each other whilst making sufficient room for faster drivers then when there is gaps between the gt3 cars they can get on with their own battles
@IDeltic2 жыл бұрын
@@Oscxr_-fq7nj We have blue flags in F1 because all cars are in the same class so the difference in speed is not that large, meaning sometimes the one doing the lapping would not be able to get past without the lapped car slowing down. In multiclass racing the difference in speed is enough that the faster car can just drive past easily when it suits them. The most important point has already been made, about making the slower cars (generally driven by amateurs) predictable, you know where the racing line is so you know where the slower car is gonna go. We can't have slower cars swerving to one side, "getting out of the way", because they misjudged the massive closing speeds, that would create even more, even bigger accidents. This is why every single FIA multiclass event has the same rule of slower cars staying on line. The incident in this race was caused by the leaders trying to go two wide when there wasn't enough space for it, doesn't matter if that was because of another car on the racing line.
