In answer to your root beer question. It does not naturally contain alcohol. It's generally just a fizzy beverage. There have been a few hard rootbeer sodas made. I have never seen or tried it.

Since everyone in introducing themselves, I might as well too. I'm a 63 year old retired city bus driver in Minneapolis Minnesota, the youngest in my family, and followed in my dad's & 2 brothers footsteps and became a sailor! I've done quite a few things in my life like being a medical courier, a forestry worker fighting forest fires, but I just love driving. I was a truck (lorry) driver, a driver for one of Fedex's competitors, and that led to my job as a bus driver. I'm a double amputee, have a neuromuscular disease, and today is my 18th wedding anniversary. I subscribed after just one video, and have been loving your content ever since!

U have a question about fire fighting. I have just retired and am trying to get some action going. My Granddather passed away while I was out of the states and never went back to the forest. He showed me whatever I know about the forest. He and his brother lived, worked and lived the outdoor of the Rookies in the area between the start of the Snake and the Mississippi Rivers. What I need is a lead on firefighting volunteers. I m sure that I would not qualify as a firefighter being retired but I have a lot of experience in the food service industry. How would a person get involved in feeding the firefighters. I feel I would have a lot to bring but have no contact to bring it to.

@@MoreAdamCouser Just wanted to share. Rootbeer is not an alcoholic drink here. It's just a soda and that bottle is only one kind. However, since the U.S. turns nearly every flavor into some form of alcohol than you can get alcoholic versions. And that popcorn? That's just one flavor. There's a caramel, white cheddar. There's also about a bunch of different brands, styles, and flavors of chips. And that's just the tip of the iceberg of what can be bought here.

Oh, and most of the sodas here are super sweet. There's only 3 sodas in this entire country that I will drink without any issues. Canada Dry which is an actual ginger ale because it has real ginger in it. If that isn't available, Scheppes. Squirt it's a Grapefruit soda. Fresca Also a grapefruit soda. Also....Dark dyed sodas like Pepsi, coke, etc. The brown dye used does help in causing long term permanent kidney issues. There's one other soda that I absolutely love and would drink it all the time. Clear Pepsi. It came out originally when I was 14. They bring it back every now and then. If I can snag my hands on an extra bottle (that I'm willing to part with. Yes, it's that good). I'll try and send it. Also, the twinkies....There are about 10 different flavors. There's fudge covered, etc. And yes, there is ceral that tastes like twinkies, dunkin donuts, etc, etc.

The flavor in root beer you can't put your finger on is Sassafras. The Sassafras tree is native to the Eastern US; Native Americans made a tea from the root bark as a "Spring tonic" (which is where the settlers got the idea for the brewed beverage that became root beer) but had many uses both medicinal and culinary.

While finishing my degree, I landed a paid internship in Puerto Rico last year, lived there until January of this year, and now I’m living and working in Atlanta, GA with a great job, and the opportunity to go back to work in PR full time in the next year or so. Root beer is an interesting drink. It originated as a medicinal drink called Sarsaparilla that was served warm and called a "root tea" despite versions having soda added to them by the 1850s. It wasn't until a guy called Charles Elmer Hires put together his own recipe in the 1870s and found the "Root Tea" name didn't sell to the local miners that he changed the name to root beer and changed American history. It often contained alcohol but could be easily served without which was a great benefit when the Prohibition Era began and alcohol was made illegal. And while people made tons of illegal alcohol to quench their thirsts, breweries were left with no choice but to pivot to soft drinks like soda jerks in pharmacies made. Root beer could sell freely while calling itself beer, because it wasn't. This period is the reason why soda became a facet of American life and why we may never kick the soda habit.

No water, no electricity, no plumbing, nothing. One day, I was greeting some villagers. One woman had her three year old son with her. I looked down and said hello. The kid instantly burst into tears and hid behind his mother. He was inconsolable. He said something in their local language which I hadn't learned yet. Everyone busted out laughing. If you want a waterfall, here are a few recommendations. These would be great in October or April. *Havasu Falls, which is part of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Havasu Falls is 4 hours from Las Vegas, but there is a closer tour of the Grand Canyon that is only a 2 hour drive. The West Rim is the closest rim of the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. This rim is approximately 125 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. *Yosemite Falls in Yosemite National Park. It is in California. This is 5 and a half hours from Las Vegas by car. In October, I recommend seeing our beautiful mountains and fall colors through a train ride. The trees turn a beautiful yellow, orange and red. Some scenic train excursions can be found with.... * Smoky Mountain Railway in Bryson City, North Carolina * Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in Blue Ridge, Georgia *Tennessee Valley Railroad scenic ride in Chattanooga, Tennessee

At 27 I found out I was losing my eyesight, so the society of the blind sent me to college, and I became a computer programmer. I will be retiring this year and spending time at my property camping. Root beer is not generally alcoholic it's not intended to be but you can get alcoholic versions. It gets its name from the ingredients. One of the main ingredients is the root of the sassafras tree. But it also contains a bunch of other stuff like vanilla etc.
@SuperDrocket
@SuperDrocket 3 ай бұрын
Just a minor correction: traditionally sassafras root was the main flavoring of root beer, but it wound up being fairly carcinogenic. There are a few specialty root beer brands that still use actual sassafras (processed to remove the carcinogenic part), but the vast majority of brands use artificial flavoring.

Figured I'd do the "About Me" in a seperate post: Born in Tampa FL in 1986, stayed there until the military. Meat my wife in 9th grade btw. Been together since we were 15. Left for the US Marines in 2005, 7 days after graduating high school. I was infantry for 13 years before being medically discharged for falling down a mountain. I have combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. I have 2 sons, both born while I was a Marine. Currently one is 17 and the other is 13. Last year, almost to the date, my 13yo was in a motorcycle accident and almost died. He was in the hospital for damn near a month and was in a forced coma for a little over a week. Shortly after that my wife was diagnosed with cancer so I haven't been working. I'm 100% disabled so the VA pay takes away a lot of stress from bills. Currently I just take care of my wife and go to the gym whenever avaliable, still 4x a week minimum. When the cancer thing 8s over, I have work lined up for me as law enforcement but it's strictly on military bases. When I was a kid I always wanted to be military or law enforcement. I'd do normal law enforcement but I have severe PTSD and I'm more comfortable on base than anywhere public. That's the about me I guess. Nobody fancy.

9:00 One MASSIVE recommendation to go to is Montana. I'm a born and raised Montanan and we're very welcoming people when it comes to visitors. Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park are 2 of the most beautiful places in the country, and I will die on that hill. Outside of the city of Bozeman you can enter Yellowstone and outside of the city of Kalispell you can enter Glacer. They're quite a long way from eachother, so you'd have to dedicate a day to drive to the other city just to go to the other park. And get your park passes in advance. Don't expect to just show up and get into the park that day because the lines will be way too long. But, besides the parks, Kalispell and Bozeman are great towns, too, with some great food. There's a reason Montana is called the Big Sky. Also, I gotta add, I know people from Ireland and England pride themselves on their drinking ability, but Montanans are nuts. Most of us (especially those of us in the eastern side) have NOTHING to do outside of work or school, so we're big drinkers. Don't expect to go to a bar and think you can pick any guy in there to go beer-for-beer with and win

The intro got me. Most root beer is non-alcoholic, but you can get hard versions. Liquid Death is hilarious, because the company that started it was like "Why not put it in a can instead of a bottle?" so that's what they did. They put plain water in a can. Of course there's flavors now. It's called "Liquid Death" to get younger people to drink it instead of energy drinks. Twinkies, I miss them from the 90's. When they discontinued them and then brought them back, it was a different recipe. Or at least they just don't taste the same. You gotta get Little Debby Swiss Rolls man. The chocolate rolls with the cream. Oh hell yes. Totally did NOT grow up on them. Nope, not me. When you said Fuego I was just like, "You know that means "fire" right?" and I was also like "Adam bout to find out the hard way." I knew the Sour Patch Kids weren't gonna be too bad. because I LOVE THEM! Especially the Watermelon bag. I dissolve them in water and just drink the flavor, then chew on the clear gummies for forever. But Warheads, yeah I remember them from my childhood and they used to be nuclear. Pepperidge Farm Milano are the best kind. Oh I miss Nerds, they were good. What do I do? Eh, I'm a paranormal investigator... ... ... and I know how you feel about em from your earlier "scariest videos" that you used to do. LOL.

Hello Adam, from West Virginia USA. My state is known for its mystery. The Appalachian (App-uh-latch-in) mountains are 1 of the oldest mountain ranges on Earth being around 500 million years old & WV is entirely encompassed in them. We got a lot of spooky shit here. My town is home to the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum which closed in the early 90s. On top of being 1 of the most haunted places in America it's also the 2nd largest hand-cut stone buildings in the world (The Kremlin being 1st.) We also got a lot of cryptids the most famous being the Mothman, the Flatwoods Phantom & the Grafton horror. One of my favorite things to do is sit on my porch at night listening to peepers (frogs) & drinking beer. That being said, there are woods behind my home. 1 of the rules around here are "If you hear a voice coming from the woods, no you didn't." That usually means it's time to go inside. Sometimes you also see ghost lights, floating balls of light in the woods. MYth is those are the lanterns & flashlights of people who went into the woods at night & never came back. I have stories from the asylum from my mom who worked there & the spooky shit I've seen on Loveberry Ridge (Which is more even haunted IMO.) Hit me up if you want to hear some sometime.

A bag of those and a Diet Coke are the best paired flavors to me. Also, if you thought Takis were bad, may you never have to try Paqui chips. Their flavor is amazing and they are one of my favorite chip brands of all time, but they absolutely DO NOT mess around when it comes to spice. And no, I'm not talking about the infamous One Chip Challenge. Yes, they made it, but they also made other regular flavors that are SO good, but very spicy.

Born and live in Utah, went to Chicago for a church mission and learned Spanish, did pest control in Puerto Rico one summer then came home and worked in a tool crib of an Air Force jet hangar. I enjoy skiing in the Utah mountains on some of the same runs as the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake. I enter sweepstakes and I’ve won trips to Hawaii, San Francisco, NYC, Sweden. I’ve also visited the UK in the 90s for a criminal justice class. One of the unique jobs I had was working in a “fire kitchen” basically setting up a portable kitchen to serve wild land fire fighters and camping out on the lawn. I’ve done jobs like digging trenches to lay sprinkler lines and quality control for circuit boards. Growing up I went to family reunions on a 50 foot houseboat with 25 extended family and my family has gone boating/skiing/wakeboarding for many years. I injured my back badly in 2007 so I don’t wakeboard as much now but still enjoy going to the lake when I can.

A lot of American treats come with history. Sassafras the root that was used in the original root beers was used to make tea when the British started taxing the hell out of tea. It grows wild in much of America. Later the A&W drive ins served root beer in frosted mugs (pre-chilled heavy glass mugs with handles) along with hamburgers, fries etc with waitresses in skates serving you. They would hang a tray off the car window with your food on it.

Those boys are the highlight of my day, aside from when I get the notification that you’ve posted a new video!! I’ve traveled the US coast to coast, east to west and north to south. PS - you’re welcome for the Mac & Cheese, I’m glad you enjoyed it. A few of our towers require Helicopter transport to get to or snow cat ATVs to climb the mountains. Love the views from my "office" 1000ft up. Cheers brother and glad to see you like some of the best snacks lol. Quick edit, just got my Cert last week to train other Tower climbers and am excited for where the career goes from here. Got my first class of about 16 coming up next month.

Rootbeer isn't alcoholic suprisingly. However, since you like it you have to try a "rootbeer float". Just pour one over vanilla ice cream. It's delicious and an American classic! Also works with coke too.

8:25 Most of my life, so far, I sat in front of the tv watching KZbin and playin games, but a couple of years ago I fell in love with wildlife photography and learning about every living thing I can find in my state. Now I drive anywhere from 100 - 600 miles a week looking for cool places to hike and animals to find.

That's so cool that you use technology turned to nature. The natural world offers so much. ❤

Awesome video. I loved learning about you and would love to see your videos on Northern Ireland. I grew up in Iowa (in Tornado Alley) and got a Masters Degree from the University of Iowa. I moved to Dallas (also in Tornado Alley) when my parents retired to Texas. Until I was 70, I was Senior Director of technical training in a cybersecurity company. Now I’m a career coach. I’ve been to Dublin and Cork. I rented a car and explored Ireland. I felt at home. I stayed in England for 6 months and have been back 15 times. It’s very special. Thanks for asking.

Something about me: When I was in the Navy, I worked on a ship called a sub tender. That's what we did, tended to all the subs' needs: restocking food, filtering the diesel lines, making sure the weapons were all good and ready to go, restocking all medical supplies, etc. I worked in a shop that had the job of repairing, replacing and maintaining the pumps and valves on the subs. ☺ I found it pretty awesome, working on subs. Even if I wasn't stationed on one.

That's crazy he's never had rootbeer before. Also, yeah it's pretty much just soda here in the states and not actual beer, but I'm sure there is rootbeer with alcohol in it.

Anthony here. I work in Staffing and Recruitment for the Veterans Affairs Hospital. It’s taken me to a lot of places in the U.S. I started in OH (raised there), then to Atlanta Georgia, Chicago, LA, then back to Chicago where I live now. Loving your videos! I think you definitely need to check out California and New York on your visit.

When I saw my guy with the Kool Aid packet, “Oh No” and it went exactly how it always goes with the nons. Great video, Adam. In my opinion, the best spin on trying American candy videos. Can’t wait for what you have up next.

I love the reaction videos, especially from the UK, since I'm as obsessed with y'all as y'all are with us 🤣 I'm a 50 year old women from right outside of Atlanta, GA, kids are grown and because of health issues I don't go out much anymore. These videos make me feel like I'm watching them with a friend. I can't tell you how much I appreciate them 🥰
