To answer your question at 4:30, no one tries to bank in a 3-point shot off the backboard, even if it's a halfcourt shot. If it happens, it was just a bit of luck. :)

Personally i disagree, the backboard is severely underrated in today's NBA, however i think the elite players do indeed intentionally use the backboard for wild shots, and not just luck (for some players). It just makes sense. The backboard is extremely useful if you know angles, trajectory, etc, why MORE players don't use it, even for longer shots, its like another talent, which can be lethal if mastered, unfortunately everyone grows up with nothing but net, and we all love that sweet sound, no one want to use the backboard for jump shots.

@@elijahfoster2 You misread, where i disagree with you is that it is always luck when a long shot banks in, when i dont think that is true at all, i think many players intend to use the backboard on wild shots. And I simply added more too it, i never said that you said that backboards were useless HAHA

@@donny5318 Yeah i re-read your comment and I get that you’re not really disagreeing with me, but also no one uses the backboard on 3 pointers. Of course it is used for other shots. We both know this lol. That was the only point of my original comment

No one, to our knowledge, has ever gotten a perfect bracket. Have to go 63/63 in predictions which on paper is 1 in 9.2 quintillion odds, assuming 50/50 chance of picking each game correctly. Obviously not every game will be 50/50 odds from a fan’s perspective so the likelihood is better than 1/9.2 quintillion but still extremely improbable lol

For me, that first sequence is pure pain. I'm a North Carolina fan, my family is from there, and that still hurts, although the pain is lessened considerably by the fact that Carolina won the National Championship the very next season.

I remember when 'Nova whipped Carolina. I was living with my parents still which was within an hour of Villanova. 🎉 It was a really big deal round here.

When you've shot as many shots as these guys have taken by the time they get to college and in college itself, their shoothng motion is automatic. So yes, they can line it up.

There are so many factors that play into an upset in March Madness. Most of the big schools have very young teams because their players leave to the NBA after two years. Teams from smaller schools that make it into the bracket are often a group of 3 or 4 seniors that have played together for multiple years. On top of that these games are played at neutral sites where 8 teams are playing that particular weekend. So even if you are a big team, most of the other fans in the arena will be supporters of a different team and everyone wants to see an upset, so you can be the heavy favorite and still only have 40% support of the crowd. And then sometimes a team just gets really hot and hits a record number of 3 pointers for their season and just wins.

That Villanova sequence showed a shot of the previous NCAA winning coach in the stands. Rollie Massimino, he’s the guy on the right.

Then the next game Northern Iowa blows a 16-point lead to Texas a&m in 45 seconds to lose. Secret base has a video about that.

When it comes to March Madness the easiest way to figure out which team is which is to look at the seeding of each team. The team with the better seed wears white. So in a 6 v 11 matchup, the 6 seed wears white.

As for the perfect bracket, only a handful of people have made it past the first round unscathed out of a billions of brackets. No one has ever come remotely close to a perfect bracket. March Madness followed by the Stanley Cup Playoffs, this is honestly one of the best times of the year for American sports. You've gotta pick an NHL team though!

I best I have seen was someone who only missed 6 games. Elite 8 lost his national championship teams plus 1 more. Otherwise, he had nailed the first, second, and sweet 16 rounds!

The video makers robbed us watchers of so many great shots by having the video only be recent clips. The oldest I saw was from 2014, and there are so many good March Madness game winners that happened way before that, including my personal favorite: the Christian Laettner shot from 1992 which is celebrating its 32nd anniversary on Thursday as I post this (March 28th). It’s just such an insane sequence of events, and you should definitely watch it if you haven’t seen it.

11:37 - you dont want to kill the clock when you're losing. There are no guarantees you make your next shot and tie the game, therefore you want as many chances as you can get. You typically would attack the basket as quickly as possible and hope for a foul, then foul the opponent and hope they miss a free throw. Some coaches will be okay with you taking the 3 if it presents itself, especially today. When I played, most coaches would be furious if you didn't at least try and attack the basket first. Anyway, don't run the clock if you're losing. Unless you just have that much confidence.

A few years ago someone got right every 1st round weekend game to the sweet 16. He was interviewed by every sports channel cause he was the first ever. And that’s only half the bracket. No one has or will ever get a perfect bracket.

I've come close to a perfect region (one quarter of the bracket) - had the first three rounds perfect in that region, and the team I picked to advance to the Final Four was up 15 with four minutes left and then blew it. But no one has had a perfect bracket; I think a few have made it through the first round perfect but no further than that.

4:40 a shooter would never aim for the backboard from the front. It was luck in this case. Backboard is more strategic from the sides.
