7:23 Yes thats a standard NFL play call . And a playbook has around 200 to remember. The QB is giving information to each position group. 1st The formation to everyone. Then the line protection to O-line, the motion, protection or route to TE, the run or slide protection or rout to the RB, the motions & routs to WR. Plus adjustments. You have to know Football terminology to understand the plays.. Its like learning a different language. FB terminology is used to describe actions in fewer words. Kind of like code words.

Also only the quarterback needs to understand the whole thing. Everyone else just needs to know the part of the play call that tells them, specifically, what to do.

@@psymar *kind of*.... you don't want to put yourself in a spot like one lineman is supposed to cover to his left and then flip right, and have another player think the seam was opening where it shouldn't be and shift to close it and bust his position... but pretty much yeah, QB is the 'field controller'.

In addition, once you hear "alert" thats typically a second playcall that the qb can switch to quickly at the line

@@jkuzem96 Spot on, he read a primary play and then a secondary play depending on how the defense reacts, probably route changes relative to the location of a safety

The turkey legs are from the Thanksgiving game in Detroit. Years ago, when John Madden announced the game in the tv booth, he gave out turkey legs to the best players of the game and the tradition has been kept alive.

At 7:20 the play call is not meant to be understood by anyone except the team, they learn and study these call at practice. Every team have their own quirky sets of play calls.

On the play call, it’s also team specific and they usually take good care to keep that secret. Each coach has his own language for the plays and it’s better not to have the defense know.

Way to go Joe. A lot of the players from different teams are friends. Teams trade players all the time. Also players leave one team for another for money or to play for a better team or to play in their home state. Imagine if Europe had one soccer league and you had players from every European country playing in others. An Italian player playing for an English team might desire a trade back to Italy because that is where he is from. Same as Tom Brady desiring a trade to San Francisco or another California team because he is from Cali. Didn't happen tho. ♦

Firstly at 7:13 … that is a real play all. I coach nine-year-olds in the evenings after schools and work, I’m a HS sr, and we don’t use plays that complex however that is what a professional level NFL play call sounds like. There are litterally hundreds of play calls that every player has to commit to memory, and all those play calls are code words for positioning, the actions that will happen in the play, and when people are supposed to move and where they are supposed to move to. Secondly, trash talking is the absolute best. It can serve as a great motivator for people and it gets under your opponents skin making them potentially mess up. Lastly, I’d love it if you did a reaction video to all 30 of our MLB (major league baseball) stadiums. Some of them are stunningly beautiful.

8:56 Trash talking is great and fun when its not serious. See the player with number 5 on in that clip is Jalen Ramsey, who is known for running his mouth and being cocky. But you can see that he is smiling, the ref is smiling, everyone is smiling. It’s just a bit of messing around is all. But when it gets serious and just plain disrespectful. For instance, Aqib Talib yanking Michael Crabtree’s chain off his neck not once but twice. So it’s a mixed bag, but most of the time it’s fine.

07:38 "Alert"... that is an audible play call = change the play... everything he said after that was a new play if he says "Alert" before the ball is snapped. It depends on what the defense is showing against the original play call. I'm guessing someone else pointed this out already, but I don't read comments.

The thing you might not get from these clips, is that these players most likely act completely different out of season. In game your brain is set to a degree of crazy, which makes people say and behave in ways they normally wouldn’t. Some people talk a lot more, some say little to nothing, but everyone is set on crazy mode.

Play calling is part DUMMY calls and REAL.It's design too FOOL the defense. It's NOT a joke."BUSTER"can stand for where linebacker is lined-up.The formation, pass blocking left or right."Z" is also identifies a position of the wide receivers in the offense route. It's not confusing as it seems.Defence has even more "strange" names for defensive calls. This a High School defense call from when I played back in the late 80's.No joke.👉"RED BANDIT, JAM LOOP DOG" It's BLITZ CALL.The cornerback rushes from the right,or left side of the field from not covering the wide receiver.RED is the cornerback coming "HOT" therefore the color RED indicates he's coming unblocked, unseen by the QB. LOOP means outside linebacker comes around inside the tackle gap right,or left on a blitz,or rush up the middle to the quarterback,or make him hurry up,or throw and bad pass before he wants to,or gets sacked.JAM means the cornerback who is NOT rushing jams the wide receiver at the line in his pass route.DOG means the other outside linebacker has coverage on the running back if he goes out for a pass.BANDIT is the just the rush assignment for the defensive line left,or right direction.Middle Linebacker calls out 3-times at the line: "RED OVER" taps the top of his helmet too let which cornerback know who's rushing,(or coming on the blitz) depending on the offensive formation,or look.🇺🇲🏈

It's already been said but yeah that's a pretty standard play call. The thing to remember is only the QB really needs to know/remember it all. The rest of the position groups get there assignment in code basically (Z flat, Y post, etc) and tune the rest out most likely. The quarterbacks obviously have to know the whole thing but if youre the Z receiver and hear z post you dont need the rest of the info tbh.
