I saw a lot of this from the top deck of the No. 8a bus on Birmingham's Inner Circle route in the 1980s. Ironically enough I was commuting to work in a factory; it closed down in 1990.

It’s extraordinary how Britain’s productive capacity has degenerated. I’ve no idea what the country makes anymore.
