Been a fan of your for several years, been a burner for 9 years running, and I loved when you started branching out giving a fair shake to different types of festivals/events that were EDM related or outside your comfort zone. However, after the EDC one and a few others, I felt your perspective started to skew from neutral to more biased, as the vibes weren't really aligned with your usual preferences. I happily retract my previous concern with this video. You all were respectful of the culture, the privacy of the people when needed(especially at the temple), and you really bought into the giving and inclusive nature of burning man. Where else can you get gifted phallic-shaped waffles in the morning, get afternoon drinks at the duck bar across the street, and then see a sea of lights as you hit the esplanade for a night time adventure. It's an experience unlike any other, and each year being different from the last is what keeps me coming back. Dan was right you do run into a bunch of people who love the smell of their own farts thinking they're more "burner" than others, but that isn't the case for most, and for most virgins I meet (except the weekend warriors), they're still learning, and are sponges for direction and getting led by example from those around them. Massive respect for picking up the moop while out and about. If you ever find your way back again, our camp is called Big Bitty Litty Committee serving dumplings Mon and Wed. Definitely stop by for a double serving, and bring better bikes for sure! Oh! definitely look up how to time it properly to visit the playa airport where pilots bring their own personal planes to give burners a free flight around the map!

I don't like burning man. The yearly ritual has ruined the actual o-zone layer above camp black rock. But no one wants to look at the overall damage having a yearly party in the same spot for decades does to the environmental. Not 💯% of burners do MOOP. Stuff is usually left behind. So to me this has been the worst party on the planet actually held yearly. Try to prove me wrong. Seriously. Do the environmental research over the last 30 years of burning man. This party should actually stop but it won't. I have a ton of burner friends and I will never go. Glad y'all had fun! I just know this party has done lots of damage over the decades & not many people actually care...
@british314 ай бұрын
@@teamcosmicseeds Yea, I hear that same story from environmentalists every year, they like to focus on big events like these as doing a fair amount of damage, never mind that comparatively, the footprint is about 1tenth of 1 percent of overall human activity that happens on a daily basis. I agree,, what happens out there doesn't exactly help the environment, but what people don't talk about and over look are how people get together and exchange ideas on how exactly to deal with things like what cosmic seeds brings up. Things get tested during the event on how to make things safer, people collaborate and exchange ideas. The fact that they are moving towards solar to power everything out there, that was glossed over, I was a part of a solar camp that brought 80 100watt panels to make a massive array that powered 5 other camps! I think there are less things burning there than before and more ecological awareness than ever has been and it is only growing as more and more camps adopt solar for their power systems. Things will still burn out there, it's sort of the point, but I will posit that less of what happens out there is directly effecting the environment in the same ways as previous burns have for the size of the event compared to previous years with less people that had actual burn bins for all the burning art (they don't do that any more). As for moop, a lot of that came from Plug-n-play camps which I think are mostly a thing of the past (they would get banned for dumping and thus disappear,) although I am sure they still happen just not on such scales as they used to and they clean up their crap as if they don't, ban hammer! Last year was the year the rain fell and it was mud fest, the moop report for that year was better than it was the previous year amazingly enough. You have to weigh how willing you are to participate based on your own levels of comfort, but the event is the largest of it's kind, and there will be an impact, but the levels of garbage generated by a Chochella are monstrous and to be fair, what happens when you have a gathering of a lot of people, the environment for that location will take a hit for that moment in time. Basically, the burn has gotten bigger, but the impact has remained constant if not reduced as people are more aware of what they are doing to the environment, and there are people out there that care a lot about it and are doing their part, compared to no event where no ideas are exchanged and no process is made on anything. I guess that is an option, and won't we be poorer in our knowledge base for it.

I flew out to that same burning man without a plan, without a camp, or much of anything but what I could carry on my back and it was a really surreal experience, getting lost in an endless rave paradox late at night, marching through a sandstorm to find a ride out of the playa to make a flight on time, stumbling upon so many great people like "burning man gordon Ramsay" and baking bread for people with him, the guys I got to hitchhike with, the lamplighters who I ended up volunteering with, all the rave DJs and roaming artists, the chinese girl I swung on the swing with for a while, the big inflatable cow I had a dance off with, and all the people I danced with while wearing a big inflatable fat suit. Most fun thing Ive done in a long time, highly recommend going however you can and bringing some creativity with you to share with others. Glad that TPD was able to document it, me being in a tent, I had little power to charge my cameras while living the homeless person experience in the desert. The entire experience was like being in a movie or an RPG video game, you could just walk up and have really interesting interactions with people, nobody was really on their phone, really interesting atmosphere, and the place looks just as good as all the pictures and videos. Hope to go again in the future with a camp next time and meet more cool people.

Boys -- been watching you for a while and was waiting for this episode because Burning Man holds a special place in my heart -- it's where I met my wife and some of my best friends. It warmed the cockles of my heart to see you guys experience what they call the "Burning Man drug" -- those moments of outrageous spontaneity that happen on the Playa. I noticed it when you needed bike repairs and stumbled across a bike repair place, and Rob, when you mentioned it would be great to see Muse and stumble across a live band playing Muse. To me, that is what makes that place so special -- there's a fucky magic out there where anything you ask for appears almost instantaneously -- it always blows my mind out there and I was stoked to see your minds blown too.

Great fun!...70 year old Boomer here,....I thoroughly enjoyed your antics and tour of Burning Man. I was reminded of all the fun I had when I was your age, hanging with my mates. I/we tried to stay buzzed on weed and tequila, almost all the time. Daily and at special events. Super RV, that has got to be the way to go in style! As an artist, ( a sculptor) I was generally too broke, to afford tickets to BM. Here in the USA,....there are many artsy events, week long Summertime concerts, with my friends out in the country or large parklands, near to where we all lived. My friends are all artists, and we participated in group exhibits, at some of those outdoors festivals. We had a tent booth, to show off our art, and we sold it to the other folks, affordable crafty things. There was time enough to get royally stoned and drunk,...out of the view of the undercover law enforcement. Co-ed events, with many young ladies, wearing next to nothing, parading around, for our enjoyment. Carry on and thanks for sharing your video. Peace.

It cost TPD a lot of money but RV rental is insanely expensive for BM. I go every year and camp, and it can be done a good bit cheaper. There are actually also low-income tickets. It's not a cheap event but for me so worth it - I love it more than anything. It never gets old (this was my 22nd). Good job mooping lads! Also great job in how this vid is respectfully edited to not gawp at the participants, many of whom don't want to be filmed (at least without consent) - there's a lot of flesh and a lot of people going wild on the playa.. As an old crusty burner I appreciate the effort to uphold Burner principles (the 11th of which is "..and f*ck your burn!")
@TPD4 ай бұрын
yeah the RV was like 4x the price we usually get them for!

@@TPD imagine cleaning one after the event.. It looks like you managed to avoid any of the major dust storms too .. there were some 100% solid whiteouts, including one after the temple burn; couldn't see 10 feet. I hope you got more footage of the art for part 2 ; traffic cone, wind sculpture, "I'm Fine :)" and more. The latter was incredibly moving. TY also for not shooting inside the temple, it's a truly amazing thing inside but not appropriate to be walking around holding your phone out, you have to experience it in person. In general I saw remarkably few people on playa with their phones out (except for grabbing the odd photo) - most people were really 'in the moment'..

What I get from you lot is that you're all very respectful and thoughtful while you're sober but as soon as you've had a few drinks you turn into morons. I mean that in the most respectful way. And so I imagine a lot of the sort of passive aggresive treatment you'll find yourselfs getting from people at Burning Man is because they can tell you're all drunk and they find that a bit annoying. Among cultures like this people eel it's ok to tell people if they think they're being disrespectful, there's no minding your own business, and you kind of have to if you want a community to work. I definitely believe that there are a lot of up themselves people there that think they have no ego but actually are full of ego, otherwise known as hippycrits. However, I also know that as someone that doesn't drink myself but loves festivals, I'd get on with you lot sober but wouldn't want to be around you all when you're drunk. I don't neccesserily think it's your faults either, it's our culture in the UK, alcohol is pure poison, I used to be the same when I used to drink. When you're asking yourselves whats next at the end, maybe it's not where you go next in regard to physical location but where you go next in terms of your own self development. What can you take from your experience at BM other than memories? BM is about inspiring change in society away from the festival and so are many similar festivals. Seeing how much you lot have changed for teh better just from your earlier videos to now is inspriing and I think that's down to all teh great festival experiences you've had and the people you've met along the way. I think the biggest changes in people like us happen in your 30's though. I'm 39 now, I quit drinking and smoking at 32. In that time I've become a completely different person as my eyes have opened to the world. The quitiing killing myself slowly was just the catalyst or teh spark that started everything else off. And I'm not saying you lot should quit anything at all. I'm saying you should look into yourselfs and think about if you like the people you are when you're drunk and maybe try to understand why you feel the need to get so twatted. What's going on deep inside your heads that makes you feel you need to do that. That's where the learning will come from. Best advice anyone can give anyone is "know yourself". It's all love boys, look forward to your next videos.
